Greetings!

Greetings from Jerusalem!

"HONOR THE STUDENTS" DAY
In June, we are hosting a special "Honor the Students" day at the main elementary school that we work with.  We are hiring an organization that does Experiential/Adventure education - this consists of team-building exercises, and a host of physical activities (think obstacle courses and the like) with the underlying purpose being the enhancement of problem solving skills and critical thinking.

We will be bringing in instructors for every single class in the school, and they will each complete the program as a unified group.  (Incidentally, this elementary school keeps the same children together in a class from 1st-6th grade.  So as you can imagine, they form quite a bond by the time they disperse for Jr. High.)

At the end of the day, we will treat the kids and instructors to a huge BBQ that will be manned by members of Dov's Border Police base here in Jerusalem!
A HUGE DIFFERENCE
We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participates in our Family Sponsorship Program.  Your consistent donations make a huge difference in the life/lives of your sponsored child/children.

In the past couple of months (especially during Passover), Dov has
received an unusually high volume of calls from people in dire straits looking for any help they can find.

We keep a stash of emergency food vouchers on hand, and these have been a great blessing to many, but our Family Sponsorship participants have been the most blessed.  During Passover they received grocery store certificates for each child in the Program.  Some of our families have 4 or 5 children in the program, which means that they received $200 or $250 worth of grocery vouchers ($50/child).  For those of you who don't know, Jewish holidays are just not complete without a huge feast, and these families were certainly able to feast!!

In addition, summer has arrived here in Jerusalem in all its glory, which means that most kids are in need of some new shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.  In the next couple of weeks, we will be delivering clothing vouchers (worth $100) to each child in the sponsorship program.  None of this would be possible without you sponsors, and we thought you should be reminded what a blessing you are and what a huge difference you are making in the lives of Jewish children here in Israel!
STAND, AND THEN CONTINUE TO STAND
These are heavy times that we are living in.  A glance at the international section of most newspapers will reveal a sharp rise in anti-Semitism (but let's be frank and call it what it is:  Jew Hatred) all over the world.  It's inconceivable to me that after the atrocities that were committed during the Holocaust that sane people would even tolerate this sort of hate again.  Yet it continues.

No matter what your political affiliations are, or what policies and handcuffs the United States tries to impose on Israel, I want to encourage you to stand with her.  And then stand some more.  Being an ally of Israel is not always easy, and it is very rarely popular.  However, there is One who will never leave her or forsake her, One who weeps for her, and One who will redeem her in the end and that is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  If He won't abandon her, then His followers shouldn't either.

I have heard it said a lot recently that a line is being drawn in the sand.  Let's get as many people as we can to stand on the ever-more unpopular side with Israel.

If you are interested in supporting the work that we do, you can donate online via our website:  www.mbki.org or send a check to PO Box 331293, Nashville, TN  37203

We hope that you have a great month filled with the blessings and favor of the Lord!

Blessings from Zion,
