Greetings!
Creating opportunities for global citizens to work together to create peace and understanding is one of the primary missions of a special foundation which I helped launch in 2001, called The We Are Family Foundation. Through our WAFF educational and peace initiatives, we are co-creating new possibilities for peace and understanding around the world.
Two years ago, through our WAFF, my family and I along with another family, built a school in Mali Africa which we called "The School That Friendship Built." Today, our school in Mali has hundreds of students - boys and girls - attending classes to learn to become good citizens of the world and carry the message of peace and understanding forward in their DNA, and their children's DNA.

The learning environment will be much more appropriate: it will be cleaner with a better aeration conditions. With this school, the government will send us desks and qualified teachers who will give the kids a better education. With this kind of education we'll get in this school, we'll be able to go to college and then to University. We can then become doctors, physicians, ingeneers, scholars, etc., thus, we can uplift our village & our country or at least participate in its building up.
2008: April of 2008, We Are Family Foundation will launch our first Global Teen Initiative in NYC. Working with 40 NGOs (Non-governmental Organizations) around the world, we found 29 of the most incredible Global Teen Leaders (GTLs), between the ages of 12-19, who are actively working on projects that promote a more peaceful society. They will come together at our 2008 Just Peace Summit to learn how to effectively "tell their stories" in order to expand their leadership ability, mobilize peers, and expand their work by engaging audiences around the work in thier projects.
