Yearbook News

Patron Pages Are Back!!!

The Patron Page is a special place in the yearbook to send your child words of congratulations and support.  Children will get a boost on the last day of school when they see a personal message from their loved ones printed in the yearbook.  This is a great way to say, "We Love You," Way to Go," or "Job Well Done!"  Look for Patron Page order forms in your child's Friday folder.  The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 9th.  Extra forms are available in the office or online.

Attention:  Fifth Graders
5TH Graders - This is your year to shine!
Don't forget to turn in your baby photos for the yearbook.
The deadline is Friday, April 9th

If you would like to submit your great Halloween Photos (from school), please burn a disk and send them and leave them in the office.  All photos must be in by April 9th.

S.T.A.R. Testing

S.T.A.R. (STANDARDIZED TESTING AND REPORTING)
Do you want to help Hamilton Students DO THEIR BEST ON THE TEST?
Volunteers are needed to assist in  the preparation of our daily testing  "BRAIN FOOD".
During the S.T.A.R. testing window, April  26th - May 7th,  Hamilton students in grades 2nd-6th  will be treated to a morning snack of sliced oranges.  If you have 30 minutes to  help slice and bag oranges, please call Liz Feingold 883-4691 to set up a date and time. The Hamilton kitchen is available for use each morning between 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. or you may choose to take the oranges home with you to cut and back.   THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Going Green

We are looking for organizers for Hamilton ---If anyone is interested in jumping in to save our planet and our school......

Local Companies partner to help local schools 'Go Green' and make some Green for the community

NOVATO, Ca - With the tough economy and recent cutbacks to education funding, it seems as if our schools have slipped further down the priority list for the state of California. Fortunately, a few local businesses have partnered in an effort to raise money for Marin County schools. These types of events have been extremely successful. In January, Lu Sutton Elementary of Novato hosted a similar event, and in just 4 hours collected over 10,000 lbs (5 tons!) of old computers, monitors, cell phones, printers and other reusable/recyclable equipment.

This is a clear win/win for everyone: schools are tapping a revenue stream and encouraging closer community support while offering a way for neighborhood residents to clear out their closets and garages with environmentally conscious e-waste disposal which would otherwise end up in landfills.

On April 7th, you are invited to attend an informational meeting about organizing your own event to benefit your school. Half of all proceeds from these events go directly to the host school. If you would like to find out more about scheduling a fundraising event for your school, please RSVP to Steve@ComputerSolutionsofMarin.com with 'Fundraiser' in the subject line, and also plan to attend our informational meeting on Wednesday, April 7th at 5:30pm, at the Design Build Specialists showroom located at: 1559 S. Novato Blvd, Suite C, Novato, CA 94947. Design Build Specialists are Certified Green Builders and have offered their showroom, free of charge, to support our schools and our community.

Green Ways to School Week 2

CLASSROOM CHALLENGE: GREEN WAYS TO SCHOOL - WEEK 2

We are entering week 2 of our classroom challenge. Safe Routes to School is sponsoring a Marin County school-wide travel challenge to motivate students to increase their 'green trips' to school. A green trip is when a student walks, bikes, carpools or takes the bus to school. The classroom with the most trips (per student) wins! Put your best foot forward and travel green to school. The challenge continues through April 9, 2010. Join in the fun and your classroom may win a cash prize.
