International Banner Leaders Summit in Burntisland, Scotland

July 17-19 2009
This is an inaugural summit to begin a much bigger process. The vision for this three nights and two days event is to gather about 25 key leaders in the area of Christian Banners together to meet each other, build trust, camaraderie and friendship and strategize about how we could be more effective by working together rather than in relative isolation. It will be a facilitated summit designed to maximize interaction, discussion and planning (with doses of fun thrown in!). It will set some directions for real corporate outcomes over the next two years. My hope is that we will seed a Network for Banner Leaders with hundreds of members across the world, facilitated by a small group of united, humble, apostolically-minded leaders.
If you feel that you should be a part of this event or know someone else who should, please contact me at david@worshipbanners.org.

New ! Shofar Banner
"The Lord of
Hosts"
Yahweh
Tzva'ot

The shofar in biblical times served as an instrument of revelation, melody, a call to arms and proclamation of liberty.
The sound of the shofar releases a powerful war cry to instill
fear into the hearts of the enemy.
This banner is particularly beautiful and effective when paired with the "Lion of Judah Roaring."

From David's Desk...
I am probably more excited to be sending you this newsletter than any other before it. Here at Out of our minds Banners (OOOMB) we are on the cusp of the greatest growth and expansion we have ever known! I just spent five days at amusement parks with my three kids- I'm not sure who had the greatest time- me or them! They are fearless. After climbing hundreds of steps, many of the rides required you to tip over the edge and go flying downwards at insane speeds, faster than I care to calculate! The moment of tip is both terrifying and exhilarating ... and that is where we are right now here at OOOMB! Over the next few months we will outline some of the main areas where we are seeing great expansion. These range from new translations of "Wielding Banners", to endorsed coaches, to new designs and supplies of banners, a new calendar, to new books and my involvement through ICDF in bringing key leaders from around the world together to strategize about banners in the Kingdom. I am very pleased to have a new Editor in Chief for the monthly newsletters. Nikki Phillips has worked faithfully for OOOMB as our Intercessory Coordinator for the last three years - week in and week out she has kept our intercessors around the world informed of the progress and prayer points of the ministry. Today she steps into a new role - in linking us ALL together. She has great experience as well as an anointing for this task. I've asked her to write a little about her journey with banners for you in this edition. We will also update you on a design you may not have seen before and on the Banner Leaders Summit happening in Scotland in July. Our feature story covers the releasing of young warriors into the Kingdom as we ministered in Canada recently. So, leap into the dingy and enjoy the ride!

Release Your Children!
The recent trip to Cranbrook in Canada included banner training for all age groups. Working with the children was a hugely rewarding event for the OOOMB team. After the Sunday morning service the pastor invited David to do a banner solo to "On Eagle's Wings." As he was worshipping, a little girl, less than four years old, came forward and began to mirror David's moves. Shortly after, her baby brother, who was barely walking, began to move and dance and run. At one point it looked as if he was going to crash into David, who just leapt over him and kept going.
At the end, the mother, with tears streaming down her face, thanked us and said, "In a normal church service, my children would have been asked to sit down. You allowed them to move and dance and be what God created them to be." This little girl had been in the training earlier in the week for the 4-7-year-olds. They sat very quietly and respectfully as David taught them and then just exploded with the banners when the activation began. In the junior high group there was a good mix of boys and girls, who also were very good students. They were captivated by the movement, color, and meaning of the banners. They also knew very clearly where the darkness had hold over thier city. What our team saw God doing in the children was phenomenal. Another mother approached us whose boys had been to the training during the week. She shared how in the last two years calls from school had been about how her children had got things wrong or were in trouble. She said that for the last two years she had been praying that God would make warriors of her sons. After the training, both boys asked their mother to get them banners.
What we as a team saw again and again was God capturing hearts to worship with banners, and the children being obedient to the call. He is raising them up and training them to be warriors. If we were speaking to parents we would say, "Be encouraged and release your children!"

New Beginnings
This is a very amazing time to be alive - things are moving so quickly in the world and in the Kingdom of God.
I am excited to be a part of what is happening here at OOOMB and particularly to be able to help bring you the latest news and information in the world of banners and those who wield them. My marketplace background is in the newspaper industry where I work at a community newspaper as an editor, both for the online edition and for a monthly regional arts publication. Worshipping the Lord is my first love and I was totally captivated by the large silk banners when I first experienced them at a conference about five years ago. That was also my first meeting with David, and life hasn't been the same since! I am leading a banner team at my church and also make hanging banners, waving banners and worship garments in my home studio. This publication is not meant to be just about us at OOOMB - it is also about you and what you are doing with banners.
I know you have a story to tell, so please contact me at nikki@worshipbanners.org.
We'd love to hear from you!
Nikki Philips
