 recycle symbolsGreetings!

Welcome to the December edition of Going Green with EverGreen Concepts.  This month we are focusing on giving the gift of green for the holidays.  We have some great gift suggestions for your eco-minded friends and family, as well as the ultimate gift for you and your family of a newly remodeled green kitchen.  We have many new affiliates, giving you more resources for your home improvement plans.  Most exciting, is the design of our new and improved website.  The new site will allow us to add many more green businesses, giving you more choices all in one place!  We hope all of our friends and family are able to take a moment to enjoy the holidays and reflect on all we have to be grateful for in 2007.  Thank you to all the troops who are fighting for us away from their families and may you be inspired to make your dreams come true in the New Year.  Thank you for all of your support!

Quote(s) of the Month

Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love.

Hamilton Wright Mabie

I have one life and one chance to make it count for something . . . I'm free to choose what that something is, and the something I've chosen is my faith. Now, my faith goes beyond theology and religion and requires considerable work and effort. My faith demands -- this is not optional -- my faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I am, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have to try to make a difference.

Instead of Fighting the Crowds at the Mall Here are Some Creative & Eco-Friendly Gifts for the Holidays!

1. Give the gift of fun or relaxation!   Instead of another "thing" to clutter up their lives give your loved ones a night out on the town, a hot air balloon ride, a golf or dance lesson.  What is something they always talk about doing?  If they have kids, a night of babysitting is low cost for you, and trust me, it is the BEST gift for Mom and Dad.

2. Create the Gift of Health and Wellness.  Make your own organic essential massage oil or make your own sugar scrub.  This is an inexpensive and thoughtful gift.  Be sure to use a reusable container and include the recipe, so they can recreate it when it runs out.  Check out this great site, www.organicscentsforyoursoul.com.

3. Give the Gift of Charity.  Donate to a favorite charity in your loved ones name.  Consider charities that may be meaningful to them.  My favorite is Lowcountry Earthforce, they do great work engaging the youth of Charleston as active citizens who improve the environment and our community.  What is better than that!!!  Click on the above link for more information.

4. Give the Gift of Memories.  The one gift my family and close friends request every year is our photo calendar.  One year we even put together an 80 page memory book and we still love to get it out and relive the memories of that year.  Create a family recipe book and include pictures of you and your family to make it more fun.

5. Give the Gift of a Home Cooked Meal.  How nice to come home after a long day of work and have a home cooked meal - that someone else COOKED!  As a busy working Mom, my kids eat fast food more than I would like.  How great to have some thoughtful friend surprise me with dinner for the family.  It's affordable, unexpected and the clean up is minimal (especially if you use recycled paper plates)!  Don't attempt this unless you are confident in your cooking skills - you know who you are...

6. Give the Gift of a Clean Healthy Home. Pay to have your loved one's house cleaned by an organic cleaning service.  Include a gift certificate in a healthy home cleaning products gift basket.  They will think of you every time they wipe down the kitchen counters.  Check out our newest Affiliate Maid Pure at www.maidpure.com.  As for the gift basket, we have everything you need right here in our showroom!

Most of all, spend time with the one's you love.  Another year is gone and our time is precious; remember what the holidays are really about.  It's not what you spend, it's taking the time to show you care.
