Enjoy the heart and soul of yoga by simply laying on the floor with pillows and blankets and following a meditative journey. This form of yoga, called Yoga Nidra, is being recognized around the country as a powerful method for deep relaxation and healing. No experience necessary.  Dress comfortably and bring a blanket or cushion to sit on, or if you prefer, use one of our chairs.
 
Schedule:                
7:00 - 7:15-gather and chat
7:15 - 7:25-pre-meditation warm up*
7:25 - 7:45-silent meditation
7:45 - 8:00-closure**
 
A $5 donation is requested, but not required.  There will be a basket on a counter for discrete and anonymous collection.  Funds will be used to support our mission to provide low cost and free public events.

*Pre-meditation: this will be led by one of the rotating facilitators and may include gentle movement, music or guided imagery.
 
**Closure: the evening will end with silence that we will carry with us out the door and into our homes.  Facilitators will be available at 7:45PM in break-out rooms to privately respond to any questions or concerns that arise for participants.

Join visionary painter Bettina Madini for this one-day retreat/workshop with visualization and watercolor painting. No artistic background required.
 
In this one-day-workshop we will get back in touch with our innermost creative being, our source of joy and life. Bettina will gently guide you through visualizations and creative exercises that will allow you to "unfreeze" the flow of your creative energy and receive messages from within "your-Self", from your creative spirit that has never left you. We will work with watercolors.
 
About Bettina Madini:
 
Born in Berlin, Germany, Bettina is a visionary artist and colorist, and a vocalist. She started her art education in Europe and continued her extensive art studies in New York City at the National Academy of Fine Arts after having changed her life entirely and moved to the US in 2003 to be a "full-time" artist. In 2004, she moved to Wisconsin where she has been emerging herself into her creativity within nature's beauty ever since.

What to bring:
Bring your favorite pillow to sit on comfortably, a journal or notebook and, if you have, a rattle or a drum. Otherwise, some rattles can be provided.
Wear comfortable clothes for sitting, moving around or walking outside. Bring your lunch as well. Tee, hot chocolate and water will be provided.

Certified through PhysicalMind Institute in New York City, Maura has been practicing Pilates for over eight years. After experiencing first-hand how Pilates helped strengthen her core, relieve her lower back pain, and fundamentally improve her flexibility and over-all fitness she decided to become a certified Pilate's teacher. Maura
wants to pass on the benefits of this low impact mind-body exercise to anyone open to improving the way in which they move through life.

Karen Blecke has over 6 years experience practicing Pilates and Yoga. She has spent years exploring the fitness world and is amazed at the impact Pilates can make on a person's physical and mental well being. She is certified through PhysicalMind Institute in New York City and is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance. She has worked with a wide range of clients from tri-athletes to individuals recovering from injuries and enjoys helping clients achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life.
