Walking Poster Contest

CTGRye Y Awarded Grant to Expand Opportunities for Healthy Living
The Rye YMCA announced today that it has received a $130,000 grant from the Community Transformation Grants Program (CTGs) to lead efforts to 

ensure that residents of its service area, as well as the neighboring community of Port Chester, have opportunities for healthy living. Read more

Youth/Teen Triathlon Prep Class starts July 10.This 6 week training class will jump start youth and teen training for the upcoming fall sprint triathlons in the area. Coaches will assist participants with swimming, biking and running in order to enhance their endurance. Program will guide participants through a training schedule that will promote health, well being, and confidence. All participants must have experience with all exercises. 
TUES AND THURS, July 10th-August 16th
Tuesday: 4:05-5:00pm (Swim)
Thursday: 4:15-5:15pm (Run/Spin)
Members: $100,Non-Members: $125

Summer Yoga Workshop Series at the Wainwright - Thursdays - 5:30pm-6:15pm - Free to Members

July 5- Hip Openers: Focus on standing and mat poses which open and maintain flexibility in the hips, as some chair poses that can be used during the day at office or travel.

July 12- Pranayama: the Yoga Breath: Explore how to use the breath while in yoga poses, as well as a chance to experience a variety of traditional yoga breathing practices.

July 19- Standing Poses: Practice and explore both standing balance poses (Tree, King Dancer, etc., and the Fire Series including Warrior Series and more.)
July 26- Shoulder Openers: Focus on practices and poses appropriate at all different levels of flexibility to help open this frequent problem area.

Our Adventure campers will be visiting with the Gomang Monks at the Wainwright House on Monday, July 23 to view a pageant and to ask questions about the life of a monk and their flight from Tibet.  Parents and all Y members are welcome to shop in their handicraft store at the Wainwright.

Our cable provider has switched to an all digital system requiring digital cable boxes. We can only accommodate 15 digital boxes, each set to a different channel. As a result each TV has 15 channels. There is still a possibility of changing the channel section, so if your favorite channel is missing, please email Laura Laura or fill out a comment form in the Fitness Center.   

Bike to the Y Promotion!

Get a Bike to the Y Incentive Card at the Member Services Card. Every time you ride your bike to the Y, we'll punch your card. The more holes in your card, the more prizes you win!
