March Madness 2012Rye Y Prepares for March Madness Fundraising Bash
On Saturday, March 31, Manursing Island Club will be filled with the cheers of March Madness fans celebrating the Rye Y's annual fundraising bash in support of the Strong Kids Campaign. Read more.

The Rye YMCA Wave Ryeders didn't find out for several days after their February 12 meet with the New Rochelle YMCA that they won by 6 points. Read more. 
triathlon groupWestchester Triathlon Committee Contributes to Rye Y Youth Programs
Arthur Henderson of the Westchester Triathlon Committee presented a check this month to Laura Tiedge, Rye YMCA Senior Director of Healthy Living. The $17,000 contribution will help support Rye Y Teen and Youth programs. Read more.

YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program
It is not too late to join the next session of the program! Many individuals are unaware that they are impacted by pre-diabetes. The good news is that pre-diabetes (unlike diabetes) is reversible. Find out if you are at risk with a free Pre-Diabetes Risk Assessment at the Rye Y.   Click here for details.
Let's Move - Group Exercise Challenge: Mar. 20-May 1
Kickoff March 20 at 10am or 5:30pm in conference room. 
Register at the Member Services Desk for this goal setting challenge. Special weekly class with instructors John Harvey and Diana Vita on Wednesdays, 11:30-12 pm and Tuesdays 8:30-9:00pm.  Fee:  $20 (Members only, 16 and over)   
Gymnastics Open Workout - 6:30-7:30 pm 
Adults (new!) - March 5; Youth (ages 7 up) - March 22 
Come and take part in our open workout program once a month. You'll have a chance to work on all four Olympic events, plus Tumble Trac and Mini Trampoline. $20.  Click here to register.

Family Garden Workshops  
Please join us for one or more workshops with the Rye Nature Center on 3/18, 3/25, 4/15, 4/22 at either 12:30-2:00 or 3:00-4:30pm.  Free to Rye Y Members; $10 for Non-Members. Click for details.

March 19-25.
Members currently enrolled in a class have the option of continuing the class for the next session at the same day and time. In person only.  Most aquatics classes need an evaluation form. To view the program guide, click here.

March Teen Nights
The Rye Y is open for basketball, swimming (swim caps required), working out, video games, or socializing with friends. Teens can also try air hockey, pool, ping-pong or foosball in the Game Room.All are welcome, Rye Y members are free (except special events) and Teen Access members are $5.00. High School students: Fridays: 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 3/30 
Middle School students (Y 2Night!) Saturdays, 7-10 pm:

International Camp Counselor Host Family  For the 3rd year, we are lparticipating in the YMCA In'tl Camp Counselor program and are looking for volunteer host families. If you would like to learn more about the program, please contact Lou Caratelli at 967-6363, ext. 301.

RACQUETBALL CLUB FOR ADULTS  Our new FREE club for members of the Rye Y is designed for both men and women interested in meeting and playing racquetball with other members. We will block off several hours on 2 days during the week and weekend. To get started - please email Scott Umbel to get on our list and help determine what blocks of time will become available.
