Mosaic Acting Academy
Voted Sacramento's Outstanding Training Resource for Actors

Auditions, Announcements, and Other News
for March 11
Greetings!
Alyssa Montalbano
One of the questions I'm most often asked is how should my resume look, so....
Several years ago, the Casting Society of American went to the Association of Talent Agents and said, "We gotta standardize these resumes.  We get four page resumes that have all this stuff that we don't care about, but are missing things we need to know.  We don't have time to hunt all over the page to find what we need to know.  This is the way we'd like to have it done.  We want all of this on it, in this order, and nothing else.  It's an acting resume!"  With that in mind, here's a link to what was agreed upon.  Since that time the business has changed a bit so you might need to add a category for Internet or Webisodes after "Television."
Here's the link.

But now, a word from our sponsors, and some news.

Mosaic Acting Weekend Intensive - April 2 & 3

This class is already almost half full,

so get your payment or deposit in soon!

THE MOSAIC ACTING SYSTEM

"Emotionology and the Whelan Recording Technique"

WEEKEND INTENSIVE

SATURDAY, APRIL 2  AND SUNDAY APRIL 3

9:00 am - 6:00 pm

MOSAIC ACTING ACADEMY

Rancho Cordova

   (directions on receipt of deposit)

I've been acting and directing for over forty years, and I've never found anything as easy and effective, or as much fun to work with as The MOSAIC ACTING SYSTEM. (www.mosaicacting.com) It is the only acting system in the world that takes advantage of the fantastic advances made in general education through the application of a Learning Styles paradigm. I've taught and trained instructors in London, Toronto, and cities in the USA, as well as presenting Mosaic Acting to schools and teachers from middle-school to the University level, including the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. The Whelan Recording Technique is the perfect Whole Brain teaching/learning technique. Character, relationship, emotional base and line memorization are achieved with ease and speed never before experienced.  It's also the most fun an actor can have!

While emotions are the very core of the actors art, there has never been a program until EMOTIONOLOGY that provided the tools for actors to study them in an objective and systematic fashion.  MAS provides that and more.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

This class is appropriate for High School age and above, and actors at all levels of experience. Tuition is $350 and includes a copy of "Mosaic Acting System" ($50 discount if you have the book) (Prior Mosaic students may repeat for $200, space permitting.) Pre-registration required and only 12 students will be accepted.  Directors and credentialed teachers may attend as non-working observers for $200. (Includes book.) To register now with your credit card or PayPal Account  click here.  Or you may register by phone at 916-361-0952 or send your minimum deposit check for $200 to:  Charlie Holliday, P.O. About choosing a class . . .

Although tuition for Charlie's classes at the Mosaic Acting studio is very reasonable,  when deciding whom you want to study with there are a lot more things to consider than just the price.   The first thing I do is look up the instructor on IMDb.com.  That will tell me what they have actually done.   Do their credits consist of a couple of independent films that they wrote and/or directed?  Have they only been in "kid shows" on Nickelodeon or Disney?  Is their background only in theater?  I want to work with someone who has worked with major directors and has appeared with "A list" actors. There is a reason why Charlie Holliday has been voted Sacramento's Outstanding Training Resource for Actors time after time.

From a Mosaic Acting Academy Student and Working Actress ...
Heather Pier
I recently made the switch to working in the Sac/SF area to the LA scene. I had taken classes from local teachers and had gotten tons of feeback about what to expect and strategies to use when I got to LA. However, with one exception, the advice that I got from people up here were just plain WRONG! Perhaps they have worked in this business in the past, but in the acting business (just like any technology) changes happen fast.
The one exception was Charlie Holliday. It pays to get advice from an actor with so much recent experience in Hollywood. All of his advice turned out to be right on the money.  LA is a big and expensive move to make. Save yourself time, money and frustration by taking Charlie's classes. He's a pro and a wealth of information. He'll give you good, solid, up-to-date information that you can use.  -  Heather Pier

Ladies polo People have been asking where to get the MOSAIC ACTING clothing articles with the beautifully embroidered logo I've been wearing - polo shirts, long sleeved Tees, hats, jackets, etc.
I get them from a company called Queensboro.  If you'd like to order something, go to the Queensboro web site and check them out.  When you find what you want, email the article number and color selection and size you want to me and I'll put together an order as soon as four of you give me payment for the items.  (I'll pay the shipping charges for you.)  You can mix and match items, and there's no minimum order for you.  Give me a call or email if you have any questions.  Thanks,
