Create Now is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1996. Our mission is to transform the lives of high-risk and at-risk youth through creative arts mentoring, education, resources and opportunities. The organization serves kids who have been abused, neglected, abandoned and orphaned (foster youth), are left homeless, runaways, teen parents, victims of domestic violence, children of prisoners, substance abusers, gang members or incarcerated. In the past fourteen years, we've reached over 20,000 of these vulnerable kids through our unique arts mentoring and cultural programs and services.
Troubled Girls Open Up Through Arts

As a successful Art Director and Designer, mentor Christina de la Cruz wanted to share her love of the arts with vulnerable youth.
Amanda and Lanyard
We referred her to the Pennacle Foundation, which manages group homes for teenage foster girls who have severe emotional and behavioral disorders due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, or being orphaned.

Christina has been making fun arts projects with the girls. "As we continue the workshops, the girls open up to me on a personal level and share with me thoughts about school, dreams, boys, friends, and their time at the house."

"Meeting with these girls is the thing I look forward to the most in the chaos of my work life. But there never seems to be enough time. It passes so quickly."

Ding Dong! AVON Calling

Lynda Williams, Independent Sale Representative, AvonWe're excited to tell you about our new, ongoing AVON fundraiser sponsored by our webmaster, Lynda Williams, who is also an AVON independent Sales Representative. Many of our supporters are already loyal AVON customers. Others have lost track of their own "AVON Lady" and have wondered where to get AVON products again. Now you can get the products you love and would buy anyway and help Create Now to serve high-risk and at-risk youth at the same time.

Create Now really needs your support and this is a great way to help vulnerable youth while enjoying their products at the same time. AVON fundraisers will run for two months at a time. The current fundraiser will be held until April 16, 2010 with a goal of $2,500 in sales, which results in $1,000 for our organization. We hope that you'll make Create Now's AVON fundraisers your regular shopping stop for makeup, fragrances, toiletries and more!

Thanks to the OC86 Team

The OC86 team is a group of volunteers who came together through WorldWorks to assist in our efforts to help vulnerable youth. We are so fortunate that they chose Create Now to receive their donations and volunteer services. Not only did they raise $10,000 for our organization since January, but they contributed a projector, a Macintosh laptop, musical instruments, costumes and much more!

In addition, they bought shelves and renovated our storage locker so that now we can easily access our arts supplies, worked on our database and volunteered at Upward Bound House to teach transitional living children how to drum and dance.

OC86 members include Adrian Becerra, Eddie Camarena, Rayehe Mazarei, Ali Assili, Jose Avelar, Rebekah Reifsnyder Donley, Damon Grossman, Kristy Michel, Emi Noguchi, Rob Terrell, James Theel and Joanna Villegas. Thanks to each member of the OC86 team for their phenomenal support!
Thank you!

Thanks to you, Create Now programs prove that the arts can impact the lives of high-risk and at-risk youth in ways that other intervention programs cannot.

Working together, we are transforming lives through creative arts!

Sincerely,

The Create Now Team
