Native American Ministry Team Partnership Project
The diocesan Native American Ministry Team and the Rappahannock Tribe in Virginia have begun a joint project of renovating the former church building of St. Mark's, Beazley. Formerly an Episcopal congregation established for the local Native American community, the building was purchased by the Rappahannock tribe and later used as a worship space for the Rappahannock Baptist Church. The building has since fell into disrepair. The tribe and the ministry team have partnered to restore and preserve the historic building. Work on the project is underway, and the team is in need of crews and individual volunteers to help. Want to get involved? Contact Rocco Tricarico of the Native American Ministry Team Team at 804-580-8080 or norneck@hughes.net. Small or large, all groups are welcome and needed. Want to learn more about Native American ministry? Check out the Episcopal News Service tomorrow for an interview and video with Nellie Adkins, co-chair of the diocesan Native American Ministry Team.
