  • The Province III Youth Ministry Network has developed a set of Social Media: Safe Church guidelines and recommendations for the safe and responsible use of social media in youth ministry. The final document is available online
  • The Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese are collecting funds to provide the new bishop suffragan with gifted vestments. Learn more.   
Diocesan Events 
  • Pending the consents of the bishops and the House of Deputies of General Convention, the consecration of the Rev. Susan E. Goff as bishop suffragan will take place on Saturday, July 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's, Richmond. All are welcome. More information to follow.  
  • Make plans now to attend the Bishop's Jubilee Weekend & Celebration of 50 Years of Camping at Shrine Mont, July 14-15.  
  • All Saints', Sharon Chapel in Alexandria will host two training events for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd: a monthly CGS Level 1 (ages 3-6) course from September-May, and an intensive Level 1, Part 1 course in July 2012 and July 2013. Learn more

Leadership Program for Musicians
 
Registration is now open for the 2012-2013 session of classes in the Leadership Program for Musicians (LPM).

Church musicians - or church music lovers - can opt to take all four course offerings, or pick and choose.

This session's offerings include Leadership of Congregational Song; Hymnody of the Christian Church; Resources for Effective Music Ministry; and Philosophy of Church Music.

Classes take place on Friday evenings and Saturdays at Church of the Holy Comforter, Richmond.

LPM is a program of the Episcopal Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Learn more at lpm-va.org.

I Can't Remember It Because I Never Knew It

 How many children's meals can be put into 40 backpacks?  At Calvary, Front Royal, a total of almost 5,500 meals were provided through their backpack ministry during the last school year.
