Need to Know
- The diocesan Committee on Race Relations has prepared a report on the history of racism and race in the Diocese of Virginia, available on the Committee's Web site.
- Have extra Prayer Books? Then bring them to Council. All Saints', Sharon Chapel in Alexandria is collecting Prayer Books for St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Monrovia, Liberia. Please drop books (damaged but useable condition or 1928 version are both fine) in boxes marked St. Thomas' Church, Monrovia, or contact Jane Delbridge at 703-960-9351 or wrdelbridge@aol.com to arrange a pick-up.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, typically celebrated between January 18-25, invites Christians to celebrate their diversity and come together in prayer. The 216th Council of the Diocese of Virginia issued a resolution recommending that "individuals, parishes and local-community ministry groups discover and implement ways of participating in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity."
On Tuesday, January 24 at 7:30 p.m., St. Christopher's, Springfield will host an interfaith prayer service under the theme "We Will Be Changed by the Victory of Our Lord Jesus Christ." The Rt. Rev. David Jones and the Rt. Rev. Ted Gulick will join in this ecumenical celebration.
All are welcome. The Rev. Peter Ackerman, rector of St. Christopher's, invites all to attend a reception following the service.

ICRIBINKI I Can't Remember It Because I Never Knew It This weekend, world-renowned speaker, writer and teacher John Philip Newell will speak at St. Stephen's, Richmond. He'll also celebrate and offer a reflection at Sunday's Celtic service. January 21-22.
