Conversations for Clergy
Bishop Johnston invites clergy of the Diocese to attend one of two conversations about the blessing of same-sex couples. For those whose discernment has led them to conclude that blessing same-sex relationships cannot be a part of their ministry, Bishop Johnston will host a gathering on Wednesday, November 2, at 2 p.m. at St. George's, Fredericksburg. This will be a chance to share your experiences and those of your congregation since the bishop announced his intention at Council.
For those who would like to learn about how they might proceed in offering blessings to the same-sex couples in their congregations, the bishop will host a gathering on Wednesday, November 30, at 2 p.m. at St. George's, Fredericksburg. This will be a chance to share your experience, and to learn what your are expected to do to prepare your congregation for taking these next steps.
