Diocesan Events 
  • Marcus J. Borg, canon theologian at Trinity Cathedral, Portland, Ore. and biblical and Jesus scholar, will join members of the Diocese March 13-14 at St. George's, Fredericksburg for a series of events. The bishop and clergy of St. George's will host a special event for clergy of the Diocese, and several other events are open to the public.

    -Sunday, March 13, 10 a.m. "What's Christianity All About?" Free and open to the public.
    -Sunday, March 13, 7 p.m. "An Emerging Form of Christianity Today." $9 in advance, $10 at door, attend both evening sessions for $18 in advance, $20 at door. Register online.
    -March 14, 9 a.m. "What is the Gospel?" An event sponsored by Bishop Johnston and the clergy of St. George's to discuss the heart and core of the Christian message. RSVP to Nancy Schwartz (540-373-4133).
    -March 14, 7 p.m. "Telling the Story of Jesus Today." $9 in advance, $10 at door, attend both evening sessions for $18 in advance, $20 at door. Register online.

Mustard Seed Grant Guidelines

Mustard Seed Grants are available in the areas of youth and college ministries; local outreach; world mission; and strengthening local churches. Parishes, missions, regions and college chaplaincies are eligible for this competitive grant, which works to strengthen the various ministries of the Diocese.

Camp Spotlight:
St. Sebastian's Camp at Shrine Mont focuses on sports and athletics with an emphasis on good sportsmanship. The camp's theme is taken from Ecclesiastes: "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: if either of them fall down, one can help the other out."
