ICRIBINKI I Can't Remember It Because I Never Knew It Tax-free distributions from Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) to charities have been extended for two years. In 2010 and 2011, individuals, age 70 ½ and older may distribute up to $100,000 from their IRAs directly to a qualified charity without tax consequences. In addition, an individual making the charitable distribution in January 2011 may elect to treat the distribution as being made in 2010. Please contact Frances Caldwell if you plan to make a gift from your IRA to the Diocese of Virginia.
