Need to Know
- Following last month's Immigration Advocacy Day at Emmanuel, Harrisonburg, members of the Diocese have prepared a set of immigration advocacy resources and presentations for your church.
- The cycle of prayer for January-March 2011 is now available online in PDF and Word format.
- The 2011 edition of the Episcopal Church's "Seeing the Face of God in Each Other" anti-racism training manual is now available online.
- One of the General Convention resolutions assigned to the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music is a feasibility study on hymnal revision. A survey for this purpose is now available through January 31.

Important Council Details
In addition to registering for Annual Council by January 5, please note that you must make hotel reservations by the same date to receive the diocesan discount at the Hyatt Regency in Reston. If the hotel doesn't receive adequate reservation numbers, we'll be forced to release rooms and cannot guarantee available space.
Please consider submitting a nomination for General Convention deputy, Standing Committee member or Provincial Synod deputy. The nomination profiles for names submitted to date are now available online.
Please make plans to participate in the Pre-Council Open Hearings on Saturday, January 8 at St. Stephen's, Richmond from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Open hearings will take place for all resolutions and canonical amendments submitted by January 5. If you cannot attend in person, please send your comments or feedback on the submitted resolutions or amendments to resolutions@thediocese.net or canons@thediocese.net.
All chairs of committees and diocesan organizations should submit an annual report to the Council office by January 5.
Please note that packets of Council material will be made available online for printing by January 6.
