Need to Know
  • The Annual Council Office is accepting nominations for various offices, including deputy to General Convention 2012 and member of the Standing Committee. Nominations should be submitted by January 5. Please print and sign the nomination form and fax, mail, or scan and e-mail it to Anna Moncure.
  • Shrine Mont Camps has openings for the director of Music & Drama Camp and Art Camp. Visit camps.thediocese.net for more information.
  • The Episcopal Church is now accepting nominations for several councils and bodies, to be elected at General Convention 2012. Learn more online.
  • Please note: for 2011, the IRS has raised the rate for mileage reimbursement to $0.51/per mile for business travel.

A Christmas Message from the Presiding Bishop

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. -Isaiah 9:2

That's how the first lesson of Christmas Eve opens. It's familiar and comforting, as the familiar words go on to say that light has shined on those who live in deep darkness, that God has brought joy to people living under oppression, for a child has been borne to us. The name of that child is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace - and God is bringing an endless peace through an heir to the throne of David.
