This past weekend was a blessing in many ways. On Saturday, the Symphony of Life had a day-long Board of Trustees Retreat at La Casa de Maria in Montecito. The overriding purpose of the retreat was to define the new Vision and Mission Statements for the Symphony of Life, coming out of and based upon the visioning the community did together on Sunday, July 1st. In addition, our intention was that we come into greater awareness individually and collectively of our oneness with each other and all of life and to simply have a day of rest and renewal and deep connection, anchored in love and peace. All of that transpired in a beautiful way, and we spent the day working together harmoniously.  

Then, on Sunday, we were blessed by the presence of Suzi Lula who was our speaker for the morning and Susan Rumor who provided musical inspiration. In addition, Suzi offered a wonderful workshop after service. Practitioner Susanna Woods and Candace Carnicelli were "in the house," also lifting us in the vibration of their powerful consciousness. We are grateful for our friends who visit us from Los Angeles and other parts of California. All in all, it was a great weekend!

I am happy to share with you our new Vision and Mission Statements which are set forth below, along with some photos taken of us at work and play.

The Symphony of Life is an inclusive community connecting and empowering the Spirit in every heart, locally and globally.  

 New Mission Statement

Our mission is to realize the Truth of the Divine Being in everyone. We embrace Ancient Wisdom/New Thought teachings. We practice affirmative prayer, meditation, and unconditional love.

We build community through Sunday services, education, social gatherings, celebrations, ceremonies, and by serving others.

Guest Speaker This Sunday 

Sunday, September 16, Rev. Marilyn Miller will be speaking on "Celebration Power & Promises." She is the author of America's Holidays & Heroes. This Sunday is the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year and high holy days. It's a potent harvest time dedicated to spiritual renewal. It is known as the birthday of the world. At Rosh Hashanah, anyone can start fresh by releasing old hurts, pains, and debts and focus on putting God first. Join us this Sunday for an uplifting talk.

Classes will be starting on Tuesday, September 18 

Rev. Karen will be teaching "Tools for Spiritual Living," the brand new and revised Foundation Class and prerequisite for all other Science of Mind classes being offered. This ten-week class begins on Tuesday, September 18, 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. This class affords you an opportunity to enhance your spiritual connection to a Higher Power.
