What a difference in your life when you wake up to who you are as Love Itself, a God Being. You begin to see that so much of your giving was about getting. You realize that for most of your life, you have been in the care and feeding of your ego. There's a part of you that is ego driven; there's a part of you that knows all about that....what you are doing and why; and then there's a part of you that you discover if you are lucky enough (or shall I say persevering enough) in this lifetime that is filled full with love and complete in every way.
Here I am in my gratitude, walking and talking in love, understanding that my greatest and perhaps only purpose for being in this physical body is to love. My eyes see love where I couldn't see it before. Everything softens in my gaze. The nasty, hateful one doesn't seem nasty and hateful any more. I rest more in my being, opening up in my desire for inclusion. No one is outside the circle of God's unconditional love. I don't have to do "it" myself (whatever "it" is). My love is reflected back to me in all forms. I am assisted in unexpected ways. My great life and its destiny are unknown to me and I am at peace with that. I'm living in the mystery, yet feeling absolutely guided and protected, finally safe, not realizing how long I've been striving to feel safe.
Ah, the blessings are everywhere--the beauty, the love, the joy! Pleasures, great and small, are everywhere. I am filled to overflowing with the prosperity and abundance of this world, and I am set free.
Our affirmation for today: I choose to see God in myself and in every person I meet. I choose to bring God out into the open for all to see and celebrate!

Gratitude and Thanksgiving We extend our deep gratitude and thanksgiving to Rev. Susan Burrell who spoke this past Sunday and reminded us that we have "More Than Enough!" We're Havin' a Party! The party animals are coming out tonight! We have so many August birthdays.....there are four alone today, Friday, August 24.......that we have decided to have a birthday party for all of the August birthday babies. We will be meeting at 6:00 p.m. this evening, Friday, August 24, at the Greek Restaurant down in the Ventura Harbor. This will be a no-host dinner gathering. Manifestation Workshop Have you ever wondered why you have great dreams and desires that never seem to show up in physical form? Rev. Karen has a theory about all of that which she will be happy to share with you at her Manifestation Workshop being held this coming Sunday, August 26, from 12:30 to 3:00 at the Woman's Club, $15 love offering (no one will be turned away). Discover how to live in an atmosphere of giving. Develop an intention and feeling tone to live by. Uncover the blocks to manifestation. Develop an action plan based on real knowing. From Surviving to Thriving Suzi Lula will be back on Sunday, September 9, to speak to us about thriving. She reminds us that we can't give away what we don't have. The more we THRIVE in our life, the more we have to share with others.
Right after the service at 12:30 p.m., she will continue with a workshop entitled "Thriving: It's Your True Nature," Love Donation: $15. Please join together with others dedicated to THRIVING as you experience abundance, prosperity and opulence as your true nature; release old ideas of struggle; nurture your spirit to better nurture those around you; make radical self care your road to riches; and create and live from your own overflow.
Gods and Goddesses Come One, Come All "Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Gods and Goddesses of the Symphony of Life! Come one, come all to a gathering of great minds under the stars. Share a snippet of your wisdom, your talent, or your unique journey.....feed the reveling spirit. Sing a song? Dance your dance, or simply recite!" There will be fine dinner faire and even a band! It's time we share our philosophy of love, joy, peace and well being! Free Monthly Spiritual Cinema Night Come to our free film night next Friday, August 31! This month's Spiritual Cinema Night will feature I Heart Huckabees, an American philosophical comedy starring Dustin Hoffman, Lily Tomlin, Jason Schwartzman, Jude Law, Naomi Watts, Isabelle Huppert and Mark Wahlberg. The film screens at Casa de La Luna Retreat, 710 S. La Luna Avenue here in Ojai. In Huckabees, Hoffman and Tomlin play a pair of "existential detectives," who help clients make sense of the events of their lives. Life being what it is, this is not easy, but it is often hilarious. Doors open at 6:30 and the movie begins at 7:00 p.m. Although the event is free, donations are gratefully accepted and go to Casa de La Luna Retreat for their gracious hosting of this event.  Labor Day Luncheon What? No big plans for Labor Day Weekend? Well, we have a plan for you. Join us for lunch at 12:30 PM, on Monday, September 3, at the Aloha Restaurant, on the beach in Ventura, 364 S. California Street, Ventura 93001. There is a special $9.95 luncheon being offered from a selection of several entrees, which include salad and wild rice along with a choice of soda or iced tea. Reservations will be under the name of Rev. Karen Wylie. Come and celebrate Leisure Day with the Symphony of Life! We shall be looking for you! Ten-Week Science of Mind Class Rev. Karen will be teaching the first of a series of Science of Mind classes, "Tools for Spiritual Living," the Foundation Class, beginning on Thursday, September 13. The class will be held on ten Thursday nights from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. The registration fee is $50 and the tuition is $150. At Symphony of Life, we now have a Science of Mind educational curriculum which will serve the needs of those who want to develop the skills for more effective living, as well as those seriously interested in becoming Science of Mind affiliated practitioners and ministers.
