"Eternity is not the hereafter....this is it.
If you don't get it here, you won't get it anywhere."
Joseph Campbell
What a wonderful Sunday we had this past week. Jennifer Russell was here singing and playing the piano for us, creating such a loving vibration. During the morning, I spoke about the power of intention. Wayne Dyer suggests that intention is not something you do, but rather a force that exists in the universe as an invisible field of energy. We have that force within us, and we have the means to attract this energy to us and experience life in an exciting new way. Everything in the universe has intention built into it and this includes all life forms. At our source, we are formless energy and in that formless vibrating spiritual field of energy lies intention. It is what allows everything to manifest, to increase, and to supply infinitely.
The big question is if intention determines everything in the universe and is omnipresent, meaning that there is no place where it's not, why do so many of us feel disconnected from it so frequently and why do so many of us lack the things we say we want to have. The answer seems to lie in our choice to align with our tiny fear-based ego rather than aligning with the creative powers of our natural built-in intention. By allowing the ego to determine our life path, we deactivate the power of intention. When we get our ego out of the way, we can move into absolute alignment with our true source and nature. We can access the power of intention that lies within us. We can live a more peaceful, joyful life by choosing to go with the flow of intention rather than making the choice against it.
Our affirmation for the day: I'm here on purpose! I can accomplish anything I desire, and I do it by being in harmony with the all pervading creative force in the universe!
In peace and love,
Rev. Karen Wylie

Gratitude and Thanksgiving We are grateful to Jennifer Russell for her wonderful music this past Sunday. Below are some pictures of Jennifer with Patricia and me. Our beautiful piano has been waiting for a gifted one to come along to play it, and it happened on Sunday. Our July Lunch Bunch A brand new friend from Oklahoma snapped a great picture of some of us as we gathered at Sea Fresh Restaurant for our July lunch bunch. The food was great and the company even more wonderful! After that, a group of us went to see Robert MacNeal in his current performance as a clown in "Elephant's Graveyard." You'll spot Robert immediately in the picture below.....he's the one in the clown suit. As our last hurrah on Sunday, members of the Symphony of Life wound up at the Ojai Art Center to enjoy the music provided by the Mardi Gras Band and our own beloved songbird, Patricia Cardinali. We danced, ate pizza, and had a merry evening with the local townsfolk. Creative Adventures Children's Program Candace Hull facilitated our program with the children this past Sunday. She brought the materials to make dream catchers and the children made them while talking about their dreams and their own ideas about what they would like to be and do when they get older.
Symphony of Life Book Club We will be meeting on Friday, August 10, 7:00 pm, at Donna Elam's home, to discuss our recent book selection, The Pickup, by Nadine Gordimer. Dessert will be served. We will also be choosing our book for the month of August. All are invited to join in at any time. Contact Donna Elam at (805) 649-1442 for more information or directions.
