"The Sun never says to the Earth you owe me...
Look what happens with a love like that...
It lights up the whole sky!"
Mafiz
There is a reason why Jesus said we must forgive 70 x 7; basically, he was saying we will never get it done. Ernest Holmes says "....the heart which would shut the door of its bosom to one who is mistaken, strangles its own life...." If our attention is constantly on what is wrong or some injustice done in our past life, what we are really doing is blocking our own goodness and freedom. We are not able to set ourselves free until we are willing to forgive. We think we have an excellent case for holding a grudge or refusing to let go of the past, but in doing that, we are denying ourselves the opportunity to experience the fullness of the love that resides within us. That is the love we came here to express on earth.
Emmet Fox says that setting others free means setting yourself free, because resentment is really a form of attachment. "It is a cosmic truth that it takes two to make a prisoner; a prisoner and a jailer. The jailer is as much a prisoner as his charge." You wind up being inextricably tied to the very one whom you dislike the most; and for many of us, our unwillingness to forgive lasts a lifetime. We wind up withholding love not just from the person who is the creator of our suffering, but most importantly, we are withholding it from ourselves. We can turn our life into a life of misery because we are unwilling to release the past. The pain and suffering we cause ourselves and those around us with our projections can last forever compared to the time we actually suffered in our physical human experience.
The truth is that where you place your attention is the key to your freedom. If you are willing to change your thinking, you can change your life!
Our affirmation for the day: In the name of love, I willingly forgive all harm done to me.
In gratitude, Rev. Karen Wylie

A Lula Extravaganza on March 18! Jami and Suzi Lula are coming to the Symphony of Life together! Please join us on Sunday, March 18, for our Lula Family Extravaganza. Suzi Kesler Lula (yes, she is the wife of Jami Lula who was here recently in concert) will be the speaker on Sunday, March 18. Her topic is "Innergy: Cultivating a Consciousness of Love." Suzi is a much sought after Spiritual Counselor and also an award winning pianist. She is a teacher of teachers. She works with clients around the world empowering them to live the life of their dreams and evolve through love. She serves on the faculty at the Agape International Spiritual Center, teaching in both the practitioner and ministerial programs.
In addition, on that Sunday, Jami will be singing for us again. We all know and love Jami and are blessed to once again hear his amazing voice in song. He recently performed at our very successful Jami Lula concert at The Ojai Retreat.
After service, both Suzi and Jami will continue their gift to us by conducting a workshop in the sanctuary. We all seek a life of love, but often place ourselves last on our own list. Please join Jami and Suzi in this part workshop/part concert as they guide you on your own inner journey from your head to your heart. We are in for a powerful, spirit-filled day!

She is starting a 12-week class for those serious about making more money. She is Director of the Singing Earth Foundation and the Symphony of Life Youth Program and has been teaching prosperity programs for twenty-five years. Given the name "Amitabhan" by the living saint Mata Amritanandamayi in 2000, his words, music and heart-opening presence spring from the depths of a quieted gratitude, and over 20 years of meditation, devotion and wisdom-based spiritual exploration.
