What I cherish most about the holidays is the golden opportunity it gives all of us to love more....to be more loving in our hearts. Whether you noticed it or not, the spirit of generosity was in the air. It is a month when most of us spend more time focusing on "giving" rather than "getting." That is what is great about December. The month was filled with so many blessings and opportunities to love more.

I am grateful for the beauty and success of our Interfaith Service on Christmas Eve which always reminds us that there are many paths to God, and they are all fine and good. Yet when we come together in celebration like that, we recognize those things about us that are similar and those things which can unite us in our holy oneness.

We were also blessed with two great speakers who shared with us over the holidays. On Christmas morning, Rev. Nancy Zala spoke to us about love eternal, and on January 1st, Rev. Marilyn Miller took the congregation through a wonderful, interactive process of remembrance and renewal.

We are constantly being reminded that there is good news within us......that there is a light within us that shines so brightly, everything else fades in its glow. We don't have to worry about the past because we have an opportunity to begin again in every moment.

As we enter this new and exciting year of 2012, we welcome the opportunity it presents to deepen in our commitment to our own spiritual growth and development. My prayer is that we may become more open and receptive to our good, that we may be kinder in our hearts, and that we may love more and be compassionate with our brothers and sisters who are sharing the planet with us at this time in history. And I say to you, my glorious one, Happy New You!

New Winter Class

Rev. Karen will be teaching a 10-week foundational class on the principles of the Science of Mind, "Tools for Spiritual Living." The class will be held on Thursdays beginning January 26, 2012 from 7-10 PM. Registration Fee: $50; Tuition: $125 (payment plans are available). Free Cinema Night 

You are invited, along with family and friends, to join us on Friday, January 27, for our next Symphony of Life Spiritual Cinema night.  Our showing for this month is "I AM," by Tom Shadyac.  The movie begins at 7:00 PM, and the event is held in the multi media room at Casa de La Luna, 710 South La Luna Avenue, Ojai 93023.  Our intention is to have our movie night every last Friday of the month for a love donation only, so put the dates on your calendar.  For more information, you can contact Leslee Goodman, (805) 625-1031 or Rev.
