"Our life experiences will have resonances within our innermost being, so that we will feel the rapture of being alive."
Joseph Campbell

That is what this life is about........feeling the rapture of being alive! We have a choice of just existing, making it through another unrewarding day, or we can take charge and start creating the life we truly want to live. Some of us might say, "I don't even know where to begin in creating the life I want to live." Then I would say start by looking at the things that are good in your life, the things that make you happy and bring you joy. Begin to focus on those things. The more you focus on the good things (the blessings), the more good comes into your life.

This state of being happy, of feeling good will become natural to you......your vibration will be high and things will begin to fall into place on a daily basis. Every need is met, every longing......every desire heard and responded to. It is good to know that there is a power within each of us that can be used. It is good to know that there is a Presence which loves us, a Presence which is inside and outside of us at the same time. Our comfort comes from realizing that we are never alone, that we are always in the company of Divine Spirit. We are nurtured and we are loved. Our only job is to let it in.......to be available to it!

Our affirmation for the day: Love surrounds me and sustains me! I am joyous in this revelation of truth!

In peace and love,
Rev. Karen Wylie

Creative Adventures Spring Program

Rev. Will was our teacher for the children this past Sunday. Our youth program supports parents in raising joyful, happy children who are self-confident, spiritually aware, global citizens. Each Sunday, our children 3-11 years old enjoy prayer, story telling, visual arts projects and/or music and movement. Our program is enriching and appropriate for young people regardless of their religious backgrounds. As part of our Sunday program, children get to explore the roots, purpose and meaning of special holidays throughout the year.

Children

We welcome individuals who enjoy children and are willing to give of their time once monthly or quarterly. Please call Rev. Marilyn Miller, (805) 640-0498, if you are interested in assisting with the children.

SOLSC Book Club

We'll be discussing our book of the month, The Life of Pi by Yann Martel, at our next meeting on Friday, June 3, 6:00 PM. At that time, we will choose the book that we'll be reading for the month of June. All are welcome to join in at any time. The meetings are a potluck so bring food to share. Contact Peggie Williamson, (805) 640-2450, for the location of our next meeting or for more information.
