".......for behold, the kingdom of God is within you"

Luke 17:21

Something really begins to happen to you when you truly fall in love with the Christ Presence within. The pathway is opened up then for great works as an everyday experience. We cannot measure the impact we have in the world as one who is inseparable from the eternal source of all life. The gateway is open then to receive all the blessings of God and to be the joyous blessing that others have been waiting for.

The difficulty for most of us in this physical experience is resisting the impulse to limit ourselves by setting our own boundaries beyond which we think we cannot go. We do this all the time by the words we speak about ourselves, our expectations of the possibility for our lives and the limited way in which we see ourselves. Actually, there are no limits.....only those we establish for ourselves. The source of God is endless supply. You are free to be as big as you want to be, or as small. It is all up to you! When the blinders come off, ultimately we see that we are creating our universe and everything in it.

The power lies within you to create the life of your dreams, but all the preparation takes place in the silence of your own soul. You will not get it in a book or from your guru. It is peeling away, layer by layer, your own self-inflicted thought forms to create paradise on earth. The journey is worth it! Blessings be to those who radiate the joy and love of God.

Our affirmation for the day: I joyfully answer my soul's call! I open up to a new idea of myself! I am sourced in all ways from the wellspring of God's love!

In peace and love,
Rev. Karen Wylie

Symphony of Life Annual Congregational Meeting

Our Annual Congregational Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 3, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM right after our church service. We will be discussing our vision for the future, financial and budget matters and other issues of concern to our spiritual community. We need a quorum to conduct business at the Annual Meeting. If you are a member, new or old, please plan to attend. Lunch will be a potluck, so please bring a dish to share.

Sacred Service Saturday

Our next Sacred Service Saturday is coming up on Saturday, April 2nd from 9:00 AM to 12:00. We will be in service at the Equine Sanctuary, 239 Boardman Road, Ojai 93023. Bring a sack lunch and drink for a picnic on the property afterwards. Whatever your talent, there is a place for you. No horse experience necessary. We enjoy these Saturdays where we, as a congregation, give service to our community. The camaraderie we experience working together for the good of the greater community is a gift that we only understand and appreciate in the doing of it.

Special Musical Inspiration

We had a big treat this past Sunday! Michael McCurtis and DaLoria Smith-Mondesir took the roof off the Woman's Club with their glorious singing and Michel's keyboard playing. We were out of our chairs clapping and dancing. We are about love and joy at the Symphony of Life, and we certainly had our share of it this past Sunday. Check out the pictures below of Rev. Karen, Miyuki, Michael and DaLoria. We love our music!

Creative Adventures Winter Program

We are very grateful to Annavae and Steve Weed who were our wonderful facilitators in the children's program this past Sunday. Below are some pictures of our children.

Children

We love our youth program which supports parents in raising joyful, happy children who are self-confident, spiritually aware, global citizens. Each Sunday, our children 3-11 years old enjoy prayer, story telling, visual arts projects and/or music and movement. Our program is enriching and appropriate for young people regardless of their religious backgrounds. As part of our Sunday program, children get to explore the roots, purpose and meaning of special holidays throughout the year.

We welcome assistant teachers who enjoy children and are willing to give of their time once monthly or quarterly. Please call Rev. Marilyn Miller if you are interested (805) 640-0498.

We celebrated Tiese and Bob Quinn's 29th wedding anniversary with them. They dedicated our Sunday flowers with this message: "When we met in 1972, we had no idea we would be on such a long and interesting journey together. In love and celebration of our 29 years of marriage, today we share our happiness with our church family." Love, Bob and Tiese.
