"The true self includes the inner and higher self
which is always in immediate touch with
the Great Divine Mind."
Thomas Troward
In truth, I think we are destined to be opened by the living of our days. We live our joys and we live our sorrows and hopefully through it all, we come into the full awareness of who we are as authentic being.
Sometimes we are called further into experience than we'd like to go, but it is such times that allow us to discover what it means to be truly alive. Our darkest moments can bring us into our most brilliant authenticity. This is the nature of life.
Through the good times and the bad, we are sustained by an indomitable Spirit within us -- the fire of our inner essence. No matter what we are facing, there is something within us that is resilient and solid. In our joys and in our sorrows, we live from this inner strength and fortitude. No matter what shows up in our lives, we can know that there is a part of us that will never be defeated. There is a grace that comes forth in us whenever we are challenged.
It is this Spirit within that makes life worth living .... that allows us to realize the blessing of life itself. It assures us that if we just keep on dancing, we'll be all right .... that the possibility of glory days are just ahead. We can be fearless, no matter what, and know completely and forever that we are tuned in and tapped into a great and mighty power that wants only our joy and happiness.
What we realize is that there is more to this business of living than we can possibly know ..... maybe even in one lifetime. Once the crisis that opens us passes, will we continue such authentic living? It seems our only job is to keep on dancing.
Our affirmation for the day: My power lives within me. Things come, things go, but the power of God in me loves, secures and supports me always!
In peace and love, Rev. Karen Wylie

Service Opportunity

We sent out a notice earlier in the week, but one of our congregants, Alexis Ells, who runs the Equine Sanctuary here in Ojai is in great need of some help on the ranch right now. The people who have been assisting her are suddenly unable to be there, and she could really use some hands-on help to manage the horses and the property. Even if you can only show up for an hour or two, it would be greatly appreciated. No horse experience necessary; all kinds of skills needed ...... grounds maintenance, tractor work, gardening, office and computer work, etc. (If you can't help, please pass this on to someone you think might be interested.) To be of service, contact Alexis at (805) 453-4567, www.theequinesanctuary.org. Sacred Service Saturday
Our next Sacred Service Saturday is coming up on Saturday, April 2nd from 9:00 AM to 12:00. We will be in service at the Equine Sanctuary, 239 Boardman Road, Ojai 93023. Bring a sack lunch and drink for a picnic on the property afterwards. As you can see from the above, Alexis needs a broad range of assistance, so whatever your talent, there is a place for it. We enjoy these Saturdays where we, as a congregation, give service to our community. The camaraderie we experience working together for the good of the greater community is a gift that we only understand and appreciate in the doing of it. We and Alexis will be very grateful for your participation. Symphony of Life Membership Directory

Rev. Will Castagna was our masterful facilitator with the children this past Sunday. Below are some pictures of him with the children.
 Rev. Will with the Children
We love our youth program which supports parents in raising joyful, happy children who are self-confident, spiritually aware, global citizens. Each Sunday, our children 3-11 years old enjoy prayer, story telling, visual arts projects and/or music and movement. Our program is enriching and appropriate for young people regardless of their religious backgrounds. As part of our Sunday program, children get to explore the roots, purpose and meaning of special holidays throughout the year. We welcome assistant teachers who enjoy children and are willing to give of their time once monthly or quarterly. Please call Rev. Marilyn Miller if you are interested (805) 640-0498. The Symphony of Life Book Club
Our book club met this past Friday night. We chose the book, "Leaving Cheyenne," by Larry McMurtry for the month of March. Our next meeting will be held on Friday, April 1st, 6:00 PM at the home of Peggie and Duane Williamson, 11756 N. Ventura Ave. All are welcome to join in at any time. It is a potluck meeting so bring a dish to share. Contact Peggie Williamson, (805) 640-2450, for more information.

Our March Birthdays
Below are our March birthday celebrants. We had three birthday cakes, and we finished eating them all!
Our AIM and Auto-tithe Program At the Symphony of Life, we are building a consciousness of abundance. We currently have two tithing programs in place. For our regular tithers, we have our auto-tithe program, which makes tithing more convenient as your tithe can be taken automatically out of an account you set up for such a purpose. Whether you are a veteran tither or are just learning about the advantages of tithing, we also have our great AIM Program (Abundance is Mine) to help you become even more aware of the abundance that surrounds you by tithing 10% on your unexpected income. Unexpected income might be a lunch or dinner that someone purchases for you or an unexpected check in the mail. Tithing is helping us to move into the consciousness of Divine flow and circulation.
