"Do not spill thy soul; do not all descend; keep thy state; stay at home in thine own heaven." Emerson
Happy Valentine's Day! This is the month dedicated to love. Sometimes, however, it feels that we've lost our way. We somehow have drifted into thought forms of separation. As is the way of Love Intelligence for those of us who have made spiritual practice our life, suddenly we reunite with the source of all good, and we remember why we are here.
Ah, to love--to feel the love and to be the love. How could I have forgotten how tender God's love is within me? How could I forget that I'm never alone. The Great God Almighty loves me and cherishes me as It does all of us. I live in the vastness of Its love. Rickie Beckwith's song reminds us, "Return to me, return to me. With every breath, return." I remember now, I'm God's Beloved. There is a Divine conspiracy on my behalf. As I recognize myself, I see myself in all others. Love beauty everywhere--the great testament to God's pure love. In the quiet, I remember my Source and my heart overflows.
Through God all things will come. In the moment of doubt, in the moment of sadness, in the moment of pain, return to me. In me is your comfort. It is good to be steeped in Spirit, to have a level of spiritual practice so that I don't get snagged or caught up in my forgetfulness. So many thoughts come and go, yet I keep my eye single upon God, seeking first the Kingdom and Heaven, knowing that all else will be added. My devotion becomes a steadying, life-giving force in my life. I have chosen well and I can rest in peace.
Our affirmation for the day: I joyously expand my capacity for love. I am set free in my willingness to love more.
In peace and love, Rev. Karen Wylie

My Valentine Gift for You
Sunday, February 20, is the day your Valentine's present will be delivered in the form of Rafael Bejarano. Don't miss church that day as Rafael will take us on a mystical healing journey with his sounds of creation. I had the pleasure of attending a ceremony that Rafael offered this past Saturday. He is a gifted healer, and just as indigenous tribes have done for hundreds of years, Rafael, in his own unique way, uses ancient instruments to create a sacred space and holy encounter. Please be sure to be present on that day. It will be a powerful experience.
Special Guests on Sunday, February 13th Please join us this Sunday, February 13. Rev. Joanne Coleman will be back. Her topic is "Love your enemies.......is he kidding?" In addition, we have some wonderful dancers who will entertain us also on that day. Mom, daughter and young cousin will dance for us. It's a family affair.....so sweet....you will enjoy it.
Symphony of Life Book Club We've chosen our book for the month of February. It is Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. Our next meeting will be held on Friday evening, March 4 at 6:00 PM. A New Support Group entitled "The Artist Way" Rev. Marilyn Miller is establishing a new discussion/support group for expanding your inner creativity. The group will be using author Julia Cameron's format and can meet in the AM or early PM according to the schedule and desire of those who sign up. For more information or to join in, contact Rev. Marilyn Miller (805) 640-0498 or e-mail: revmarilynmiller@yahoo.com.
The Symphony of Life Spiritual Center Choir Our choir is back in action after a brief hiatus. Some of us are pictured below. Rick Ricksen captured a picture as we were making preparations for our next rehearsal. Our choir director is having her baby in two weeks and two days (the timing is my prophesy). Where are the men? We need some bass voices!!
Gratitude and Appreciation We extend our appreciation to Melanie Moir and her mom, April Aloisio, who is visiting from Ohio. They provided our musical inspiration on Sunday, along with Miyuki Harley.
Also many thanks to Dr. Justine and Kevin Wynn who facilitated our Creative Adventures Program this week.

Meditation Class Forming Now Randee Vasilakos, our Symphony of Life practitioner, will be offering a five-week meditation class. The New Symphony of Life Membership Directory For the first time in our church's history, we are developing a membership directory for our spiritual center which will be available in print and also on line. Everyone will receive a complimentary 8 x 10 individual or family portrait, as well as a printed directory that includes our entire membership.
Photos will be taken of our members to be included in the directory. The dates for the free photography sessions are February 18th and 19th. The photo sessions will be held at Ojai Healing Movement, 960 East Ojai Avenue, Suite 106, Ojai, Ca 93023. To view a Google map click here. Reserve your appointment while a convenient time slot is available! Making your reservation is easy. Simply go to the www.solsc.org home page and click the link to reserve the time for your photo session. We will be collecting pertinent information from each member to be included in the directory. You can choose what kind and how much information you wish to share with the congregation. This is a great way to let your spiritual family know what your unique gifts and talents are and to create more business for yourself. We see this as an exciting step forward in building our spiritual community. More information about this project will be forthcoming, but be sure to make your reservation now!
Creative Adventures Winter Program We love our youth program which supports parents in raising joyful, happy children who are self-confident, spiritually aware, global citizens. Each Sunday, our children 3-11 years old enjoy prayer, story telling, visual arts projects and/or music and movement. Our program is enriching and appropriate for young people regardless of their religious backgrounds. As part of our Sunday program, children get to explore the roots, purpose and meaning of special holidays throughout the year.
We welcome assistant teachers who enjoy children and are willing to give of their time once monthly or quarterly. Please call Rev. Marilyn Miller if you are interested (805) 640-0498.
