Young Entrepreneurs Boldly Start New Business
We aren't aware of that many businesses that are started in a garage by four enterprising and musically talented teens and their supportive parents. But, that is exactly what happened with The Fortunate Ones aka David Cacy (Drummer/Vocals), Andrew Irwin (Lead Singer/Bass Player), Kyle Anderson (Rhythm Guitar/Vocals), and Garrett Dunlap (Lead Guitar/Vocals). These Champion High School Sophmores are learning about business from the inside. Their parents got together and funded a membership in the Chamber of Commerce for the band.
Advertising their style as "Classic ROCK with a new TWIST" these young musicians are playing out their dreams. They played their instruments alone in their garages and bedrooms for a long time before connecting with each other to form their band. "Music is in our souls," says David Cacy. "We want to see where we can take it. We have 55 to 60 songs on our playlist already. We take Creedence songs and Beatles songs, for example and add a little Green Day vibe to freshen them up."
If you want to hear their sound, they've already got some gigs lined up. They recently performed at the Salon Infusion Business After Hours Mixer on February 11. You can also stop in the Tin Roof Steakhouse where they play every other Wednesday night.
When you meet them you'll see why we're so excited that they joined the Chamber.
These guys mean business!
