Your Chamber ranks in the top 4% of Chambers Nationwide
 On November 4, the U.S, Chamber of Commerce awarded just 20 chambers nationwide with accreditation for their effective organizational procedures and deep commitment to advancing the united interests of the business community. We're proud to announce that the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce was one of those twenty chambers, and we were awarded Four Stars of distinction.
 The only program of its kind in the country, U.S. Chamber Accreditation recognizes an organization for its quality programs, clear organizational procedures, and being a catalyst for positive action in their community. Celebrate Boerne's History This Holiday Season
2009 Chamber Christmas Ornament Is Available - 11th Edition
Ye Kendall Inn
For the 11th year in a row, the Chamber honors Boerne's heritage with a beautiful collectible Christmas ornament, this year showcasing Ye Kendall Inn which was built in the 1859 as a stagecoach inn and now is a guest property featuring beautifully appointed guestrooms, meeting space and a fine dining restaurant. If you haven't visited this historic site, you can find it at 128 W. Blanco Street.
The ornament is available at the Boerne Chamber of Commerce office located at 126 Rosewood Ave, Boerne. Read more.

Member Information Verification Underway
Make sure Your Business Info is Up-To-Date in our Records,
New Directory Due Soon
 Kerry Phillip, the Chamber's Membership Director, has sent out verification forms to all active members of the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce. The reason the Chamber goes to the expense of mailing members these forms is because the forms reflect the information we have for each business.
Some of this information is shared with people who want to know how to contact you. Some is gathered to develop plans and programs. Some information, like the number of employees you have, is used to determine demographics and strength. And, the biggest reason we need you to review the information on the verification forms is that we use this information to produce our membership directory: The Official Guide to Boerne. We're working on it now and expect to print it in the spring of 2010.
So please do your part and check the information on the verification form to make sure we are referring customers to your business. If you've misplaced your form, contact Kerry at 830-249-8000 and she'll walk you through the procedure.

Great Question!
 We get some of the strangest calls at the Chamber. People call us for business referrals which we gladly refer to our members on a daily basis, but often we get asked the most unusual questions.
We hear some great stories. We get calls from families looking for old friends, people who visited long ago and want to know if that certain shop is still on the corner, people who want to know if it is worth their time to plan a stop in Boerne. People stop in who have lived here forever and still want to know where they should take their company for dinner. We are amazed by the number of people who call Directory Assistance to get our phone number so they can call us and ask for someone else's number, which we gladly provide. Read more.

In the 2010 Official Guide to Boerne You Can Increase Your Exposure
 The Chamber's Directory, The Official Guide to Boerne, features your company's name and phone number in the alphabetical Chamber Membership Listing and your company's name, address, phone number, website and contact name in the Business Guide by primary category of business. If your business is diverse or you want to appear in more than one category, it is easy accomplish. You can promote your business under additional categories by purchasing listings for $50 each. A good example might be that you want to appear in a specialty category as well as a broader, more general category. Remember, this Directory is given to thousands of people who may want to look up your business. Will they know to find your business under Real Estate - Commercial rather than Real Estate? Or Construction rather than Contractor? Or Consulting rather than Non-Profit?

Stars of Boerne Awards Gala
The 2009 Business, Businesswoman and Businessman of the Year will be Awarded
Be sure and mark Friday, January 29, on your calendar for this special event. The festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Don Strange Ranch 103 Waring Welfare Road, Waring (map) . Ticket prices are $65 per person (register and/or pay online).

We're in the last quarter of the year - how is your business doing?
Well, once again the shopping season of the year is upon us, and as always, the Chamber wants you to make sure that you keep your dollars in Boerne and Kendall County! With more money spend on Black Friday than any other day of the year, it is very important, especially with the down economy across the nation to support our local businesses.
It only makes sense. The dollars you spend locally come right back to you in infrastructure and services from the county and the city. Read more.

Just wanted to share with
you what I did this afternoon. I was flying from Dallas back to San Antonio on
Southwest Airlines Flight 2301 and wanted to see if Southwest Airlines would
allow me to do a benefit auction at 30,000 feet.
Well, they did!!! I sold
two ties for the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) on Southwest
Airlines Flight 2301 at 30,000 feet.
