Holiday Greetings!
Hope that you are gearing up for a magical end-of-year season!
Our "Hypnovation for Weight Control" is ready for release! The feedback from our initial clinical study participants has been very promising and we are adding in several new elements to the program, including daily motivational messages, "how-to" videos to learn simple, cutting edge tips and techniques to boost your nutritional intake while feeling satisfied and gratified.
Just because it's that time of year when temptation abounds, doesn't mean that you have to lose control. A little indulgence is good - in fact, even Dr. Oz encourages everyone to have one day where you eat pretty much as you please. If you are concerned about losing control over the holidays, we have a great plan for you to lose POUNDS instead of self-control! Check out the article below and our Hypnovation page on the website.
If you are local, come out to sample some yummy raw and raw fusion delights at one of my events where you will experience some easy-to-prepare recipes to impress your guests. I am experimenting in the Raw Fusion kitchen this week with some surprise treats for my class at Abby's.
Most of this month I will be in the studio taping instructive and helpful how-to videos for the weight program as well as a full series for eHow.com. We will have those videos embedded on the website for you to see by next month.
Until then, from sunny Florida, wishing that your holidays be filled with joy, laughter, warmth and blessings!

1 TB. olive oil or macadamia oil
juice from ½ lemon
1 or 2 TB. of nutritional yeast
¼ cup water
Fresh chives or Italian parsley chopped very fine
Garlic granules or powder
8 Belgian Endive leaves or smallish Romaine lettuce leaves
1 tsp. nama shoyu,, tamari, Bragg's liquid aminos or Celtic sea salt*
*You can replace the nama shoyu or Celtic sea salt with 1 ½ tsp of dulse flakes to turn this into a "Not-Salmon Paté"
Garnish: Fresh or defrosted green peas, pomegranate kernels

6 Tips to Avoid Overeating |
 |
LJ's 6 Tips for Avoiding Overeating this Holiday:
- Have a couple of pieces of fruit about an hour before the main meal.
- Drink a glass of water or seltzer one half hour before your meal – if at all possible avoid drinking liquid with your meals as it interferes with digestion.
- Food combining is key – if you really crave some meat, poultry or fish, have it with only salad and veggies but no starch (rice, stuffing, potatoes corn, beets). If you prefer the starch, mix that with green veggies and salad. Your stomach will thank you – you will avoid that bloated feeling and not have to loosen your pants! Next meal you can switch it out and enjoy what you "denied" yourself before.
- After dinner have a cup of hot herb tea instead of diving right into dessert. Try peppermint, chamomile or lavender teas, which will relax you and help digest your meal more easily.
- Take a break! Go out and get some air – maybe play with the kids or take a walk around the neighborhood before dessert. This gives the main meal a chance to settle and gets you up and moving (and bonding)!
- Having some dessert is fine as long as you wait about an hour after your meal. Start with a small portion and enjoy it with a second cup of herb tea.
