Letter from the Editor
Fairy Greetings to All!
I am a great fan of mothers and of the
incredible commitment being a parent entails.
While I never experienced parenting
first-hand, this summer we had a really
exceptional extended visit from our beautiful
goddaughters, which helped me realize in
microcosm the non-stop responsibility and
sheer busy-ness of motherhood. My
appreciation for you Moms has certainly
grown!
Over the years, I have earned the reputation
among my peers as someone who "mothers mothers,"
because I think that Moms really need some
spoiling and down-time. Often in striving to
be "the good mother," you forget about the
nurturing that you so deeply need to make
your workload feel lighter. There is no
doubt that the greater part of the Fairy
Therapies and Fairy Line Naturals
healing
products that I have created are for the
purpose of promoting the "reflective pause."
It is only by balancing our busy-ness
with being-ness - even if we
accomplish this for the briefest of moments -
can we live in harmony between mind, body,
and spirit.
If you haven't practiced any of my Fairy
Therapies to date, this would be a
wonderful month to get started. The loving
duo of Fairy Maribelle and Baby Belle are the
fairies of nurturing and unconditional love.
I know how depleted your energies can be
after years of perpetual work! Nurturing is
a two-way street. This very simple fairy
therapy is about taking some time for
You.
And speaking of good mothers, , we are so
proud to feature Fairy Line's principal
artist,Shirin Moosavi, in this issue.
She is
amazingly talented, as well as being an
awesome Mom to Ariana and Sara, and my dear
friend. Join me in wishing her HAPPY
BIRTHDAY! (August 1.)
May this summer be showering you with
memorable moments! --
LindaJoy

MEET OUR FABULOUS FAIRY ARTIST! |
 |
Rarely a day goes by at the store without a
person asking us, "Who's the artist who
created these beautiful fairies?" Meet Fairy
Line's foremost artist, Shirin Moosavi! A
native of Iran, Shirin was born into an
artistic family where painting, poetry and
writing were a part of her upbringing. By
the age of 17 she had already illustrated two
children's books and several magazine
stories! Yet, when she immigrated to the
United States, she decided to pursue an
interest in science and engineering and
worked successfully for many years in
technology.
Art has always remained a primary passion in
her life. A student of Eastern philosophy
and mysticism, Shirin seeks to "uncover the
unity of human spirit with universal truth
through figurative art." She considers her
paintings as gateways to understanding the
universe and connecting to the elements of
creation. Recently, Shirin has embarked on a
Masters of Fine Arts program at the Laguna
College of Art and Design. She has also
recently donated a series of paintings for a
fundraiser to benefit Afghan children:

Most of Fairy Line's lovely and
lyrical winged beauties have been created by
Shirin. When LindaJoy conceives of a new
fairy or concept, she works closely with
Shirin, sharing her ideas and visions, which
are then represented brilliantly on canvas by
this exceptional and multi-faceted artist.
Next month we will be releasing our first
children's book in a series, Drew and the
Dreamtime Fairy, featuring 22 original
paintings by Shirin. She has already
submitted several drawings for our next book,
A Fairy Tea Party, which will be
available closer to the holidays.
"I believe that there is magical all around
us," tells Shirin. "We just need to open our
eyes
to it. Painting fairies is a perfect and
joyful way for me to express this belief. It
is such a pleasure to bring these fairies to
life. I feel blessed to be a part of the
mission of Fairy Line."

FAIRY LINE BINGO - A WHIMSICAL TWIST TO AN OLD STANDARD |
 |
Similar to conventional bingo, but much more
magical fun!, Fairy Line Bingo is included in
every Fairy Tea Party kit and can now be
purchased at our store and online.
As many as 12 players can participate. Each
Fairy Line Bingo card features 25 of our
original, enchanting fairies. The reverse of
each card has a description of the
personality and mission of each of our
playful pixies. The object is to complete a
line of 5 fairies in a row, column or
diagonal, but the player must call out
"FAIRY!" in order to qualify for the
prize.
What makes this game particularly unique and
exciting is that we have also included 10
whimsical calling cards that enhance the
fairy theme and embody the positive ideals
and philosophies of The Fairy Line --
promoting fairy friendship, social
responsibility and a joyful outlook on
life.
This is a great game that the whole family
can play!

Dear LJ,
I wanted to drop you a quick note to thank
you for the wonderful Fairy Tea Party you
brought to The Children's Home. This was a
truly a wonderful event. I would even use
the word magical.
As you know The Children's Home, Inc. is a
residential treatment center. We specialize
in children who are victims of abuse, neglect
and abandonment. I was a bit skeptical when
you first approached me about wanting to
bring the tea party to our girls. Due to
trauma and past experiences, our girls have
been removed from their homes, uprooted from
schools, friends and support systems. This
has severely impacted their outlook and
behaviors. They can sometimes be difficult
and hardened. I was not sure how they would
react to a Fairy Tea Party.
As I watched the party begin, I was nothing
short of astonished at the girl's reactions
and behaviors. Due to you and your wonderful
staff, the girls had an experience they will
never forget. They are still talking about
(two days later) and very excited about
having a chapter of the Fairy Girl's Club
here!.
I want to thank you and your staff for a
wonderful and unique event. Everyone had a
wonderful time! The party captured the
hearts of both young and old alike. Our
clinic staff and cottage staff are raving
about it. They can not wait for the younger
girls to have the experience.
Thank you again for upbeat, ambitious,
astonishing Fairy Tea Party.

5-17 WHO MAY WANT TO BE A "FAIRY GIRL" AND
LEARN TO SHARE AND MENTOR OTHERS, , SEND AN

FAIRY THERAPY SELF-NURTURING SESSION |
 |
Fairy Maribelle and Baby Belle are the
fairies of nurturing and unconditional love.
Their important message is that nurturing
is a two-way street. Nurturing, which
comes from the same root as nourishment,
means to care for and feed one's mind, body
and spirit. Mother's nurturing and loving
care is reflected back in Baby's
unconditional love, trust, and dependence --
which nourishes Mother's heart and soul. The
concept of the "inner child" might be turning
into a bit of a cliché, but if you don't fill
the well from time to time, it is in danger
of becoming dry!
So - this week make a commitment to these
lovely fairies that you will take ONE HOUR
for yourself, to nourish your own (peace
of)mind, body, and/or soul; Have a massage,
browse in a bookstore, take yourself to the
beach, or play golf. Something just for you,
to give you a reflective pause and time to
appreciate that you deserve some down-time.
Now, remember -- you've made a promise
to fairy mother, Maribelle, and her baby,
Belle. You might have fibbed to your Mother
from time to time, but you'd never lie to a
baby, would you?
