violence! PAVE (Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment) will be holding a benefit
event "Removing the Mask: Art and Soul
to Shatter the Silence of Sexual Violence" on Thursday, September 17, 2009
at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, 135 Grand Ave, Los Angeles. Sexual violence
is a silent epidemic that affects us all - 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused before the
age of eighteen.
This event will utilize artistic endeavors as a catalyst
to create positive social change and shatter the silence that surrounds sexual
violence.
This year's event
promises to be a highlight of the season featuring performance art with special
inspirational guest speaker #1 NY Times best
selling author Dave Pelzer promoting resilience.

PAVE was founded in February 2001 by Angela Rose after she
was kidnapped from a shopping mall and sexually assaulted by a repeat sex
offender who was on parole for murder.
Although Angela was assaulted by a stranger, the vast majority of sexual

PAVE's Impact
PAVE's education and awareness campaigns have been implemented in over fifty cities
across the country and featured in many national media outlets. PAVE is also working in the international arena. PAVE Founder Angela Rose was appointed the Co-Chair of the International Sophia Conference Ending Violence & Human Trafficking in Sophia, Bulgaria in 2010 as well as the Sexual Assault Victim Co-Chair of the International Conference on Violence, Abuse and Trauma.
