The Only Thing Constant is Change

Change is a double edged sword.

For some the sword has come down hard and put a quick and final end to things. Many businesses are just gone. In the last two years Circuit City disconnected and closed their doors, Kodachrome is no longer developing, Pontiac came to the end of the road and countless magazines folded. Borders just announced bankruptcy this week and will be clearing the shelves in 200 stores. Given the business climate of the past two years none of us are surprised to find that many companies and organizations are trying to sever ties with the recent past before it is too late.  Read More…

Dear CalTIA Member

There has been a tremendous amount of activity since our last Connections so let me fill you in on all of the latest at CalTIA.

First…a new name…

You will notice that our site now has additional functionality that provides a glimpse of the many changes that will take place this spring at CalTIA. More importantly, we are dedicating ourselves to expanded advocacy efforts and heightened communication within travel, tourism and hospitality. Additionally we are further expanding our outreach throughout the state in a variety of ways to further communicate the impact of our industry on jobs, statewide revenues and economic recovery. Because of this expansion of our efforts and outreach, we felt it was important to have our name reflect the depth and scope of our mission. Read More…
