is on a mission to change the world. How? Well, we have a vision of a
skate ministry within skating distance of every skater around the
world. This is a tall order, but we know that the God we are called to
serve can do anything. Did you know? Childhood
obesity rates have risen dramatically over the past 30 years. According
to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, almost 19 percent of
young people aged 6-11 years are obese, while more than 17 percent of
12 to 19 year olds are.The CDC estimates that the total cost of obesity in the United States
in the year 2000 was $117 billion. While some cases of obesity may be
caused by genetics or other factors, most are the result of modifiable
behaviors such as overeating, a sedentary lifestyle and lack of

UPDATE: M.A.D. Skates & Rec Center

It was a blessing to meet Brett for the first time at the 2008 Skate Conference. After spending months talking over email and the phone it was obvious that she was someone with a true passion to reach skaters. Here is an update on her ministry in Washington.
 "Bethany Bible Church in Kenmore, WA has agreed to allow us to use their
gym one night a week for skate church. We will begin hosting skate
church in February 2nd.
For those who don't know what skate church is all about, here's a brief run down.
1 hour free skating
30 minutes sharing of the Word
1 hour free skating
This
is an awesome opportunity to reach out to young people in our
community, give them a safe place to skate, and show them the love of
Jesus Christ in a tangible way.
We need an additional $600 in order to buy our skate insurance for the year.
So, I'm calling upon you all to send just $8! If 75 people send just $8, we'll have exactly what we need.$8 to Skate!
That's
all it takes. Just $8. What is $8 to most of us? A couple of Starbucks
drinks? A cheeseburger at Red Robin? Two cases of Reeds Original Ginger
Ale?
What is $8 to a skater in the Bothell/Kenmore area? An open
door. A safe, warm, and dry place to skate. A place to hear the Word of
God. A place to build relationships.

MALMESBURY ABBEY SKATE 2009
 Plans are going ahead for the first skate venture in a 7th century abbey in the UK. They are moving the chairs and putting up a skate park and cafe for a youth outreach. Please pray for the set up, for the outreach and for those who God will call to visit us on the 18th - 20th Feb 2009. Visit the site!

 Colorado happens to be one of my favorite places. Growing up in South Florida and studying Ocean Engineering, no one would have ever guessed how much I would fall in love with the mountains There is just something magical about the snow there. It seems to sparkle like diamonds. To me, you can see God everywhere you look.
But since snow in Florida doesn't exist, I caught the Winter XGames on ESPN the other night. It is a blessing to see women like Kelly Clark ripping up the half-pipe and boldly sharing their faith on her board. Check out her testimony.

Boarders For Christ in Egypt A few years ago we sent some decks along with the Palau team to start the first skate ministry in Egypt. Last year BFC returned. On November 30th 2008 Professional Skateboarder Shawn Mandoli, and
Boarders for Christ representatives Josh Tyvan, Wes Luke, John Mark
Shorey, Jordan Halland, Chris Lauri, and Vince Marjes left for the
opposite side of the earth with enough skateboards to fill a skateshop.
Their goal was to give away the skateboards while they travel through
Egypt skateboarding in front of thousands of Christians and Muslim
egyptians.
This video is a short chronicle of what they experienced while being Board in Egypt.

SHARE: Learning about Judaism
 Meet Jenna...As a Jew, Jenna's worldview is a religion called Judaism. Judaism is
over 3500 years old and has approximately 15 million followers
worldwide. It is one of the oldest religions on earth and was started
by the Biblical character Moses when he gave them the law God revealed
to him. Jenna believes that the God who created the world established a
covenant (a binding agreement - sort of like a contract) with the
Jewish people. She believes God revealed his laws and commandments to
the Jews in what they call the Torah - which is the same as the first
five books of the Bible (Genesis-Deuteronomy). Jenna is devoted to
studying and obeying the laws and commandments written in the these

GET INVOLVED: Opportunities to serve in Skate Ministry
 Serve as a Skate missionary in the UK, Sweden, or Guatemala. Christian Skaters are looking for dedicated skaters who love the Lord to serve as missionaries in various skate ministries.
 Build Ramps on Skate Missions...Help us plant skate churches around the world. Short term mission opportunities are available throughout South and Central America this year.
 Street Team...Help spread the word about Christian Skaters. Volunteers are needed to spread the word online and at events throughout the world. If you believe in our mission and want to serve, let us know.
 Intern...Want some hands-on experience in Skate Ministry? Join us at our hometown park, participate in our Skater's Bible Study, serve at our Free Saturday morning Skate lessons, get tips and see if skate ministry is for you. Motivated interns with a heart to serve are wanted.
Want to serve longer? Our campus offers a Bible College & School of Worship where you can grow while serving at our skate ministry.
