This month, MySpace Impact Awards is looking for organizations that are community builders who empower individuals and groups by providing them with skills to effect change in their own communities. Based on MySpace votes, the winning organization will receive a $10,000 donation.

PRAY: Skid Row
SkidRowMovie Tomorrow Uli (Christian Skaters Co-Founder) leaves for Skid Row  to serve alongside Enoch Magazine. This will be the second trip to Skid Row. If you are unfamiliar with this area, Skid Row is the word used to describe the downtown homeless district in LA. Most of its residents are there due to drug addiction, mental illness and/or financial distress. This community is made up of thousands of homeless people and encompasses a 4-5 block radius.

The team will be helping to launch a discipleship ministry and will be filming the second part of a documentary that will attempt to bring awareness to the homelessness in our country. The focus in filming this experience is not to show what they had done, but to show what the needs of Skid Row are and how outsiders (such as ourselves) could begin to meet some of those needs. Last trip, they learned that the first real need for Skid Row is to assist those who are already down there working everyday to make a difference in people's lives. Most of them are under funded. Nevertheless, they have dedicated their lives to assisting the poor and the addicted, so they know what works and what doesn't.

Pray that the Lord keeps the team safe! The violence in this 4 block radius is incredibly high. Pray that the Lord uses the team greatly to make an impact in the lives of those they touch. Pray that they might inspire others to partner with ministries to serve the homeless in our country by using the documentaries and their example.
