DO SOMETHING: Skid Row
banner Christian Skaters is again joining Enoch Magazine is attempting to bridge the gap between the homeless on Skid Row and those living in homes and suburbs around the world. Not only are they creating awareness, but we are also offering a real opportunity to help the people in our films. Skid Row is the word used to describe the downtown homeless district in Los Angeles. Most of its residents are there due to drug addiction, mental illness and/or financial distress. This community is made up of thousands of homeless people and encompasses a 4-5 block radius.
Last April, a team of 8 individuals from different cities and states joined together for an Enoch Documentary in Skid Row Los Angeles. In January, they will go back to serve again. Read more here.

THINK: Resolutions
banner"Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Grab life by the mane. Set God-sized goals. Pursue God-ordained passions. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention. Keep asking questions. Keep making mistakes. Keep seeking God. Stop pointing out problems and become part of the solution. Stop repeating the past and start creating the future. Stop playing it safe and start taking risks. Expand your horizons. Accumulate experiences. Consider the lilies. Enjoy the journey. Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can. Live like today is the first day and last day of your life. Don't let what's wrong with you keep you from worshipping what's right with God. Burn sinful bridges. Blaze a new trail. Criticize by creating. Worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks. Don't try to be who you're not. Be yourself. Laugh at yourself. Quit holding out. Quit holding back. Quit running away" -unknown

The practice of making New Year's resolutions goes back over 3000 years to the ancient Babylonians. There is just something about the start of a New Year that gives us the feeling of a fresh start and a new beginning. In reality, there is no difference between December 31st and January 1st. Nothing mystical occurs at midnight on December 31st. The Bible does not speak for or against the concept of New Year's resolutions. However, if a Christian determines to make a New Year's resolution, what kind of resolution should he or she make? Read these verses

Here are some suggestions: (1) Pray to the Lord for wisdom (James 1:5) in regards to what resolutions, if any, He would have you make; (2) Pray for wisdom as to how to fulfill the goals God gives you; (3) Rely on God's strength to help you; (4) Find an accountability partner who will help you and encourage you; (5) Don't become discouraged with occasional failures; instead allow them to motivate you further; (6) Don't become proud or vain, but give God the glory. Psalm 37:5-6, "Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun." WHO: Jereme Rogers
With a resume even Donald Trump would be jealous of, Jereme Rogers has already earned his right as one of the big bosses of skateboarding. Whether he's wooing the masses with his switch-stance mastery at some of the largest and esteemed contests in the land, or filming and shooting photos alongside legends like Eric Koston and Danny Way who are ten or more years his senior, there's nothing apprentice about Rogers.

bannerAt the age of nineteen, in the midst of living the dream of the competing and traveling professional skateboarder, Jereme had a spiritual awakening. "I'm not perfect by any means, but I have an undeniable belief in God and a really strong faith and whatever's going on in my life it's going through his hands," he says. And Jereme's Christianity and belief in God is no secret. The words "I Fear No Man" are tattooed on one side of his neck. "In God I Trust" is inked on the other side.
