Merry Christmas From Christian Skaters The krew here at the Christian Skaters US office wants to thank each of you for your prayers and support. We are so blessed and excited to celebrate the birth of Jesus with those who love Him all around the globe.
2008 has been one amazing year. We have seen the 2nd annual US & UK Skate Conferences and the 1st South African Skate Conference come and go and again were blown away by how the Lord continues to use these conferences to equip and encourage everyone who attends. We have begun reaching out to the industry by hosting worship at ASR in California and pray that the Lord may work in the hearts of these core skate company owners. We have also made a presence at the Surf Expo as the Lord has blessed us with spots directly near the skate ramp to be a bright light in this industry. Please continue to pray for these opportunities.
We are excited about the plans the Lord has in 2009 for the UK Christian Skaters krew and are blessed for this family in ministry. As we continue to build relationships throughout the globe, we pray that the Lord brings us solid leaders willing to serve and oversee these areas. How amazing it is to see the Lord working through so many.
In 2009 the Lord has placed Australia & South America on our hearts. We pray that the Lord might open doors to allow CS to be used to plant skate ministries in South America through skate missions. We also pray that the Lord might open an opportunity to host the first ever Australian Skate Conference.
Please consider joining us as a partner in this ministry! Prayer Warriors are needs. We also have opportunities for interns, long and short term missionaries, group leaders, volunteers, ramp builders, and more.
Our needs for 2009 include an attourney, accountant, a trailer to transport ramps, donated boards for our mission locations, pads, helmets and funds to provide for travel, office expenses, insurance, shipping & building supplies.
Christian Skaters is a 501(c)3 non-profit run solely by volunteer staff. All funds go directly into helping support and build skate ministries.

WHO: P Rod
|
Paul Rodriguez Skateboarding Career Highlights:
2002 - Trans World Skateboarding Rookie of the Year
2003 - appeared in the movie Grind
2004 - became first pro skater sponsored by Nike (Nike P-Rod)
2004 - won gold in X Games (Street)
2005 - won first in FTC Flatground (Street Best Trick)
2005 - took third in Dew Tour (Park)
2005 - won gold in X Games (Street) )Paul Rodriguez Personal History: P-Rod's
father is the famous comedian Paul Rodriguez. At the age of 12, Paul's
dad bought him his first skateboard for $30 (his dad stated last year
that it was one of the best investments he's ever made!). Paul got his
first sponsor at age 14, and was a pro skater at 16. He's happy with
his life, and feels like he's already achieved his dream. Paul is an
outspoken Christian, and has a tattoo of Jesus on his arm, and says,
"God's not waiting for me to be perfect..." (EXPN)
Paul Rodriguez's relationship with God: "To me, God is my everything. It's
my foundation, you know? He's gotten me over a lot of humps and hurdles
and made me realize that certain things aren't as important as they
seem when you're stressing out, because when you're dead, gone, and
nothing but a pile of dust, it doesn't matter how much cash you made or
how many of this or that you had. It helps me realize that things
aren't always in my hands. If I didn't have that kind of faith, I would
be the fool thinkin' that this is all me doing it and get all cocky.
I'd probably be some knucklehead who everybody would hate if I didn't
have faith. If this whole skateboarding thing just crumbles, I'm going
to accept that that's what God planned for the better and move on. I'm
thankful for every day." (Transworld Skateboarding, December 20th, 2006)

UPDATE: Winter Wonder Jam/Love Out Louder Day
|
This past Saturday, Christian Skaters teamed up with our home park (Ramp 48) and our home church (Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale) to be a part of Love Out Louder Day. We are blessed with one amazing church, an amazing head pastor, and an incredible outreach department. This Saturday over 25 outreaches happened around South Florida. Pro skaters Josh Harmony, Christian Hosoi, and Ray Barbee flew in to be part of a day of Free skate lessons, a best trick contest & a demo. Ray & Josh also stopped by local surf shop IWS to play some tunes and all three headed over to Surf World to sign autographs. Over 100 skaters made decissions or recommited their lives to Christ during the weekend. Praise the Lord for these three skaters who honor the Lord in all they day.
