 Drugs have always had an impact on the skate culture. Just listen to testimonies of skaters like Christian Hosoi, Jay Adams, Dennis Martinez, & Jay "Alabamy" Haizlep. The skate industry has lost way too many skaters from this deamon.
Last week's Episode of The Uprising features Jay Adam's release from prison, Dennis Martinez, and this new documentary.
DOPE is a look at four
legendary world champion skateboarders, Jay Adams from Dogtown's Z
Boys, Christian Hosoi, Dennis Martinez (world champion), Bruce
Logan(world skateboarding champion owner of Logan Earth Skis number on
skateboarding company in 1980s it examines their rise to the top and
their descent into the drug and crime culture and slow climb back to
life. Narration is by legend actor Danny Trejo music title song by
P.O.D. with addition music by Switchfoot. Archival period rare
skateboard footage never seen before along with current interviews
makes this a must see project.Interviews with legend Stacy Peralta,
police officers, transients, skateboarders, parents and loved one shows
the true affect that drug use brings to our society the pain and misery

| CALL: Where does God want me?
|
 What is God's call for your life? That question seems like the one I heard often as a kid, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" To this day, I wonder if I will ever entirely figure either one out completely.
I do know, however, that God's first call is to a close & intimate fellowship with Him. (Read 1 Cor. 1:9 and John 17:3) I also know that God has a special and unique plan for my life. (Read Jeremiah 29:11, Psalm 25:12, Ephesian 2:10 & 1 Peter 2:9). But, what is the unique plan?
I believe that God gives us a desire and passion for that which he has called us to do. Without a true passion, your heart is not in something. I believe this passion is what the Lord uses to motivate and drive us to reach a people for His glory. (Read Phillipians 2:13) God equips us with spiritual gifts (Read Romans 12:6-8, 1 Cor 12:8-10 & 1 Cor 14:1-6) and promises to be with us (Joshua 1:9) for the journey.
No matter what our call, we are not truly following Jesus unless we are being a fisher of men and an active witness for Jesus Christ, telling the lost about Him and sharing His plan of salvation with them (Matt 4:19). He also wants the church to teach and help others become fully devoted and passionate disciples (learners and followers) of Jesus Christ, so they will be fruitful witnesses and servants of His (Matt 28:18-20).
