 Steve Cabellero stopped by OCYC for an exclusive interview. Not only is Cab a legend in skate but he is one rocking artist. Check out the full interview here.
OCYC: You love skateboarding. WHY?
CAB: God
gave me a huge passion for skateboarding to pursue a career in the
industry and I'm gonna use it for all his glory and give thanks to HIM
for these talents and gifts he has given to me.
OCYC:
You travel not only for your companies, but you also volunteer your
time and energy to travel globally to share your faith. WHY?
CAB:
I want people to learn about Jesus and get to know him personally. I
want to share what Jesus has done in my life to change it and make me
see truth an wisdom in that which comes from the word of God. It brings
me much Joy to know that God is using me in a big way to spread his
love among his creation and help build the kingdom. I know i like to
influence people in a positive manner and help them when ever i can to
bring peace in their lives. It took a long time for me to except Christ
in my life, because of my pride and ego and i know it was Gods perfect
timing and all his doing to reach me in the way that he did. So now, i
want to give thanks and do his will because of what he's done for me by
offering me salvation and the Grace given on my life. If there's a time
to share my faith, i will, but one thing i do know and it's all about
timing, so i have to be patient and let the Lord take control of my
life:)

| GET INVOLVED - Orange County Youth Commission Skateboarding

 This has to be of our our favorite skate ministry sites. Watch the intro video and you'll see why!
Established in 2006, the Orange County Youth Commission (OCYC) Skateboarding
division serves inner-city children and youth by providing after-school
skateboarding activities on public school campuses and skatepark. Directed by Richard Mulder, each MAD club Instructor is equipped to provide :
1. beginner, intermediate, and advanced skateboarding lessons & instructions
2. character education
3. academic tutoring and assistance
OCYC Skateboarding clubs are currently active at Sierra
Intermediate School and they are planning another club at the new
Godinez High School. If you skateboard, live in Orange County and are interested in facilitating a OCYC Skateboarding Club at your community or school, please contact Isabel at isabel@ocyouthcom.org

GO: Scotland Part 5

David Reasbeck is a skateboard missionary who travels around the world.
While in Scotland, Enoch Magazine traveled there to document his work
and hang out with his local friends. David and the local missionaries
from Globe Missions are involved in building a skatechurch there called
"Deeper." This episode deals with the concepts of loving people and
taking them as they are, and features local skater and all-around great
guy Andy Smyth. |

PRAY: UK Conference
|
 This coming week, Uli, Toni, and their three children will hop on a 8 hour plane ride followed by several hours in a train in order to encourage skate ministries around the UK & Europe in partnership with Christian Skaters UK.
We ask for your prayers for their travels, their family, and that the Lord may use them mightily to encourage and equip others in Europe to reach skaters with the love of Jesus Christ.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
"We were amazed at the response to the event last year, as over 60
leaders from 6 countries involved in skate ministry traveled to the
event. As a group we continue to see God do some amazing things
through skate ministry, and we want to continue to envision both young
and old in the UK, by seeing what God is doing with skate communities
throughout the UK and Ireland. We are excited about the opportunity to
hear of what God is doing further afield as well and are expecting
leaders again to attend from South Africa, America and mainland Europe.
We know God is changing lives through Skate ministry and we want to
move forward with this ministry. This is a significant weekend, as part
of that vision, a weekend full of praise, worship, fellowship, great
speakers and opportunities to use the fantastic skatepark"
