UK Skate Conference
The UK Skate Ministry Network is very excited to
announce details of the forthcoming conference,
which will be the first of its kind in the UK.
The aim of the conference is to unite and equip
leaders involved in ministry to the Skate communities
(including BMX and Roller blade).
The conference will be held in the excellent facility at
the Factory Skate Park, Dundee
www.factoryskatepark.com over the weekend of
November 9th -11th 2007. Starting on Friday evening,
and going on to Sunday Lunch.

GRIND FOR LIFE
An Organization to Pray For
Grind For Life, Inc was founded in 2003, by life-long
skateboarder Mike Rogers, after his second battle
with sarcoma cancer. Mike's tumor was located
behind his right eye and nasal cavity. He endured a 17
hour surgery a cranial-facial resection with a brain-lift,
removal of his eye, cheekbone, and half of the roof of
his mouth and some of his teeth. He beat cancer once
as a pre-teen, and again 25 years later. Mike beat the
odds and is skateboarding competitive again.
The mission of the Grind For Life organization is to
provide financial assistance to cancer patients and
their families when traveling long distances to doctors
and hospitals. In addition, we educate and inspire
these patients and families concerning cancer
survival and recovery.

Lives Impacted in Orange County...
One of the most diverse action sports events ever
staged in southern California brought skateboarding,
BMX riding and freestyle motocross to Rancho
Mission Viejo Riding Park on Saturday, October 13. A
crowd of more than 5,000 attended the Livin It Orange
County Festival that featured extreme sports action
along with live music, children's activities, and the
Gospel message from a number of speakers
including world evangelist Andrew Palau.
Headlining the activities was freestyle
motorcycle pro Kyle Loza, a gold medalist in the 2007
X Games, and the Riders for Christ FMX team;
legendary skateboarder Christian Hosoi and the
Boarders for Christ skate team; the Stunt Dudes BMX
team; and professional surfer and author Bethany
Hamilton. The all-day, free event concluded with the
world premiere screening of Walking on Water, a new
film produced and directed by professional surfer and
filmmaker Bryan Jennings.
"We were blessed with beautiful southern California
weather, an amazing show by the athletes, a world
class movie premiere, and great support from the
churches," said Andrew Palau. "This festival format of
action sports, music and family fun has provided a
wonderful setting to celebrate the power of faith and
God's love."
