Coastal Walking Holidays

Greetings!

The sunshine which has blanketed Scotland over the past few weeks has been very welcome and it looks like summer has certainly arrived. With the lovely long summer days bringing back memories of the seaside I though that I would feature our exciting range of coastal walks in this months newsletter.

My favourite TV programme of all time is the BBC's Coast as I think it perfectly represents that wonderful coming together of water, land, people and history which makes the UK's coastline spectacular, fascinating and inspiring in equal measure. Coastal walking is without a doubt the perfect way to discover the people, landscapes, history, villages, wildlife and sheer diversity of our coastline. I hope that you will be able to spend some time walking our coastline this summer.

I would also like to say thank you and well done to all of you who have completed walking holidays and mountain biking adventures with us during the past couple of months. Your feedback has been wonderful and we have decided to publish our feedback on our blog.

Best regards

Discover the stunning Northumberland Coast

The St Cuthbert's Way has long been one of our most popular walking holidays and the highlight of the walk is undoubtedly finishing across the causeway to Lindisfarne. Inspired by this wonderful coast we have added the St Oswald's Way to our programme. Following most of the Northumberland Coastal Path south from Lindisfarne to Seahouses and Craster before branching off to finish in Hadrian's Wall Country this is set to become a favourite walking holiday.

If you would prefer to concentrate on the Northumberland Coast why not choose our "Best of St Oswald's Way" Itinerary which follows the coast from Bamburgh to Alnmouth. Perfect for a long weekend break!

Go on, take your boots off and walk barefoot along the long sandy beaches of Northumberland this summer.

Fife Coastal Path Walking Holidays

We launched the Fife Coastal Path this year and I am pleased to say that the feedback from our first few groups has been absolutely outstanding. Here is just one brief comment:

"Great to have someone who can take all the hard work out of arranging holidays like this and reassuring to know that itineries, maps and accommodation will be perfect!" - Val Alexander, UK

Feel your worries disappear as you walk along deserted sandy beaches, enjoy a pint at the Ship Inn in Elie or some of the finest fish and chips in Anstruher. The bird life is also prolific and dolphin sightings are almost guaranteed. I am sure that you will agree it's time to put this perfect little corner of Scotland into your diary.

Alternative Coastal Walks

Instead of trying one of our new walks why not stick with one of our old favourites that visit the seaside. Tried and tested these never fail to disappoint.

The Arran Coastal Way was our first and favourite coastal walk. Visit castles, taste whiskey, surprise seals and enjoy this charming little island that sums up Scotland perfectly. Arran Adventures..

The Kintyre Way features miles of walking on the lovely Machrihanish Beach, wide open to the Atlantic, and one of the few beaches on the west coast mainland that gets great surf. Discover the white sands of Machrihanish, the delicious seafood of Tarbert, Loch Fyne and the famous single malts of Campbeltown on this walk on the "Mainland Island". Kintyre Way Holidays...

The Isle of Skye boasts over 900km of coastline and some of the best island and sea views in Scotland. Our two walking holidays on the Isle of Skye both enjoy some wonderful coastal walking and are perfect for the more experienced walker. Across the Isle of Skye is slightly easier while A Long Walk on the Isle of Skye is only for the experienced looking for a challenge.
