Hypo Detector Device
Trials of innovative device proceeding well
A year or so ago, Reality Check passed on a request from the manufaturers of this device for people to participate in trials, and it created tremendous interest. We thought you'd be interested in an update on its progress.

The HypoMon is currently undergoing a at-hospital clinical study programme. The first study involves 30 Type 1 adults (+18 years) at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney. This study is approximately halfway through. The second study involves 30 Type 1 children (12 - 18 years) at the Princess Margaret Hospital, Perth. Two children have been tested so far. Data from the trials is currently being analysed and results will be available soon. Watch this space.

Starter Kit for Newly-Diagnosed Adults
Reality Check's resource online for you
Throughout 2003 and 2004 you would have heard from us repeatedly as we called for contributions, reviewers, ideas and suggestions for the Starter Kit. It was completed, published and began distribution in October last year.

A reminder that the Starter Kit is also available online for you to read at any time. A great starting point for any tricky questions - for both newbies and old- timers as well!

Pregnancy Booklet a huge hit

Many Reality Check women contributed to producing the first free booklet about pregnancy and diabetes in 2002. It remains to be only the 2nd Australian publication of any type on the topic!

The booklet has just been re-printed, and is available for download from the Reality Check website.
