Volunteers Needed
We are seeking volunteers who are interested in joining one or more of our committees for 2011.
Being active on an association committee will enable you to stay informed on key issues critical to our everyday business, and is a great way to gain exposure and insight into our dynamic industry. MBA/MW cannot survive without active volunteers. Anyone currently working for a MBA/MW member company is eligible to participate.

It's been an honor and a pleasure to have served as President of MBA/MW this year. I want to thank the Executive Board and the Board of Governors for their help and support. I have been fortunate to work with a group that is so creative, talented and dedicated. It's been another challenging year and despite heavy workloads, each of them contributed to our success.
Our Charitable Giving Committee raised funds for Hope and a Home and Manna; they organized a Saturday work day with Hope and a Home and raised awareness of Fannie Mae's Help the Homeless Walkathon.
The Communications Committee along with the association's Executive Director Jean Rosen did an incredible job revamping our website.
The Commercial Real Estate Finance Council hosted two very successful events -- the Spring Real Estate Update and CREF Fall Seminar.
Our Networking Committee organized Charity Happy Hours around the Beltway to provide networking opportunities in a variety of areas.
The Legislative Committee provided critical feedback in MD, VA and DC, and to the DC Council regarding amending the DC Foreclosure Bill B-18-691.
The Education Committee organized nine seminars including a FHA Update with Vicki Bott, HUD's Deputy Assistant Secretary for Single Family Housing.
Our Mid-Atlantic Lender/Broker Conference Committee hit it out of the park this year doubling the number of exhibitors from the previous year. Every committee worked so very hard this year and we've had many, many successes.
As hard as the committees worked, we would not have been successful without the invaluable assistance of Jean Rosen, our Executive Director. Jean's organizational skills, attention to detail and initiative are key to the successes we enjoyed this year.
The most important key to a successful year was the support of our members. Without your help, we would not have had the success we had this year. I want to thank our member companies for their support. You are the foundation of our association -- through sponsoring events, becoming Preferred Corporate Partners, encouraging your employees to volunteer on our committees and by sending your employees to our events and seminars.

Frank Donnelly, CMB, Receives Award at Holiday Luncheon
Frank Donnelly, CMB of SunTrust Mortgage Inc, was recognized by MBA/MW President Teresa Howell for his extraordinary efforts this year. Frank had a vision and implemented a plan to achieve a successful outcome. A year ago he told the Board of Governors that he wanted to chair a new committee. This committee would be in charge of planning and marketing an event which, in recent years, hadn't been particularly successful.
The re-named and revitatlized Mortgage Bankers Reunion was held on December 1 as a sold out event. It was a spectacular evening. One comment that was used to describe the reunion party was "Best in Class."
At the Annual Meeting & Holiday Luncheon on December 10 at the Mayflower Hotel, Frank was presented with a special award for his vision, commitment and dedication.
