Welcome to the weekly newsletter of DHSC. Each week another newsletter will be sent out with announcements, news and reports from the previous weekends games. These reports will include scores and highlights sent in from coaches, referees and parents. This is a great way for kids to see their names, pictures and comments about the game. The more information we receive, the more we can report. Please send synopses of games to:

Greetings!

This weekend was yet another exciting weekend of soccer, despite the threatening weather one Sunday.

 

Referees

The club WANTS REFEREES. If you would like your child to referee in our intramural program please send an email to dhscref@gmail.com. It's a great way for kids to make some money being around what they love, while having a great experience.

 

Respect the Fields

Parents & coaches please remember that a "no dogs and no smoking" policy exists at all fields Dix Hills Soccer Club plays on. Also, let's keep our fields clean by picking up ALL trash after EVERY game, even if you didn't drop it. Let's be proud of the fields we use. 

 

Monthly Club Meetings

The Club meets on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm in the cafeteria at Chestnut Hill. During the season everyone is encourage to attend, listen, ask questions, voice concerns, etc. The next meeting will be May 1st at 7:00pm.

DHSC 9th Annual Father's Day Tournament (U6-U11)

The club is hosting is 9th annual Father's Day Tournament. The tournament is open for U6 to U11. Please talk to your coaches if you are interested in your child playing.

Weekend Reports
Week 4 - Intramurals
 
Boys U6
The Rough Riders and the yellow team played a very intense action filled game. Goals for the Rough Riders were scored by Gavin Wisotsky, Dean Muratore and Jayden Debenedittis. This was Jayden's 1st goal of the season and was a beautiful shot. Goal keeping was split between Max Futter, Gavin and Dean. Once out of goal Max kept up his driving force bring the ball up the field. The defense was let Nathan Click who continues to prove he is formidable force to the opposing teams offense. Newcomer to the team Justin Roberts played his 1st game yesterday and it seemed as if he was with the team from the beginning. Brendan Ridge continue to put forth great effort and continue to clear the ball to the opposing team's side of the field.  The final score was 3-1, with the single goal being let in via a scramble in front of the goal.

Girls U6
The Peanut Butter beat the Ladybugs 2-1. Referee Benjamin Targett reported, "The game was hard fought with great breakaways and goals".


Week 4 - Travel

DH Juventus BU15

Dix Hills Juventus U15 boys beat HBC Juventus 3-0 on Saturday April 21, 2012 to advance to the State Cup Quarter Finals against Staten Island Knights on May 12 or 13.   Dix Hills' defense controlled the game led by Jake Zipkin,  Matt Goodman, Kory Fitzgerald, Connor Linden, Bryan Bagdziunas, Josh Griffith.  The defenders and midfielders (Steve Buono, Christian Pineda, Reggie Damour, Luis Villamil and Jose Chavez) were tremendous and the offense, led by Matt Avallone and Adonay "Oscar" Bonilla struck at the most opportune time to seal the victory. 

 

DH Juve Premier BU15

Dix Hills Juve Premier boys U15 tied their game against East Islip Impact 1-1 on Sunday April 22, 2012.  Juve Premier is still undefeated in the LIJSL. 

 

DH Fire BU11

The DH Fire win again!! 

Scoring Machine Andrew Bunsis scores 2 goals for the Dix Hills Fire on the way to a 4 -0 win over the West Babylon Bull Dogs. This keeps the Fire tied for 1st place in S2 with 3 wins, no ties and no losses.

DH Villains BU14

DH Villains keep a clean sheet in their 3rd league win. 

 

On Saturday the Villains battled hard with North Babylon Bombers and played another great possession game. Chris Corcoran was man of the match for his tireless effort in keeping #10 the star of the Bombers at bay by marking him out of the game. Ryan Graziano scored from a free kick just outside the box late in the 2nd half after David Targett was brought down while trying to dribble to the goal. This goal was enough to the Villains their third win of the season to remain top of their division.

 

On Sunday the Villains travelled to Queens and played an evening game against the Olympiads in the driving rain. This was  another hard fought battle but the Villains lost 2-0 but earned the respect of the parents, coaches and officials for putting on a great performance and never giving up.

 

DH Hornet GU16

The DH Hornets advance to the quarterfinals of the State Cup and play again Sunday, May 13 at 5:00pm.

 

DH Heat GU15

The DH Heat advance to the quarterfinals of the State Cup. Next game is TBA.

Please be sure to adhere to the following conditions:  

NO TEAM CAN PRACTICE OR TRAIN ON THE TWO TRAVEL FIELDS AT CHESTNUT HILL MONDAY TO FRIDAY! WEEKEND GAMES ONLY! 
No team can train, practice or scrimmage on any field at Candlewood, West Hollow or HS West before 5:00 PM Monday thru Friday and 1:00 PM on Saturday.
If a school sport is being played,
YOU MUST NOT INTERFERE WITH THEIR GAME!
If you are asked to move, MOVE.
  • U4 & U5 Girls will play and practice ON THE SMALL DIELDS at Chestnut Hill
  • U4 & U5 Boys will play and practice ON THE SMALL FIELDS at Chestnut Hill
  • U6 and U7 will play and practice at Five Towns College.
  • U8 to U11 will be playing at Chestnut Hill
  • U12 and older will play at Five Towns, Candlewood, HS West Turf or West Hollow.
Any coach, trainer or team that ignores any of these rules will run the risk of not being allowed to participate in the club.
