Birthday Wishes

We are excited to begin a new partnership to serve the children in Oklahoma and Canadian County by fulfilling birthday wishes of children in foster care. In March of 2012, 224 Oklahoma county children will have a birthday while in foster care. While we hope that they are in a loving home that could celebrate their latest milestone, we know that many are not. Please "Read on..." to read the names and ages of children who will celebrate their birthday away from their family and uncertain of their future and how you can help!

Emergency Kinship Support

Over the Christmas season we had many requests for additional help for families who had lovingly agreed to be a kinship placement for children who had been placed in foster care. They, many times on a moments notice, agreed to do whatever needed to bring a child (or in one case 7 children) into their home with out immediate support from OKDHS. Most were in need of a bed, crib, car seat or small amount of food to get them by until the next pay day.
Please click below to see how you can help to make the difference in a child staying another night in a shelter when they could be with a family that they know during one of the most uncertain times in their lives.
