For 2012, you will also receive a quarterly newsletter highlighting what you can expect to catch over the next three months along with upcoming events and happenings in Marathon.

Jason joins us full time

 Thanks to our unprecedented growth during 2011, we are pleased to now have Jason Bell working with us full time. If you have had Jason as your deckhand, you know how hard-working and sincere he is about making sure you have a good time and catch lots of fish aboard the SeaSquared. Jason loves to teach people how to fish the waters of the Florida Keys as much as Capt. Chris does. He's extremely patient and great with kids, always ensuring their rods are constantly bent and they have success with landing a wide variety of fish. Jason will be getting his Captain's license in the next few months, and we have big plans for him! Expanded tarpon season schedule

 Tarpon - the silver king. Anglers flock to Marathon from around the globe and return year after year to fish for giant tarpon.
Tarpon are prized not only for their great size but also because of the mighty battle they wage with the angler and their spectacular leaping ability.
We primarily fish for tarpon in the waters at Bahia Honda Bridge. It's a quick 20-minute ride from our dock at the 7 Mile Marina with spectacular scenery provided by the Seven Mile Bridge and Bahia Honda State Park.
We invite you to get in on some exciting tarpon fishing aboard the SeaSquared. Who knows, you may go five for five like Dwain and Denise Brannon did back in April!
We are offering three tarpon trips daily beginning April 15 ... 7 to 11 am, 11:30 am to 3:30 pm and 4 to 8 pm. The cost is $525.

Reopening of deep drop fishery

 After implementing countless restrictions, it appears the fisheries management folks are finally giving us something back. Notices we have received indicate the deep drop fishery will reopen this spring. That means once again we will be allowed to fish in the 450-foot and greater depths for giant grouper, snapper, tilefish and rosefish. This lends a whole new meaning to offshore fishing. On a day when dolphin fishing is slow - or you've caught all you want - we can quickly and easily switch gears and drop for these hard-fighting, good-eating deep-dwellers. Once the opening of this fishery is confirmed, we plan to put together a brand new deep drop set-up, and we invite you to be among the first to put it to the test! Watch for future announcements and keep your calendar open for some really great fishing! |

 If you fish with us this winter, you are likely to catch a fair share of king, Spanish and cero mackerel. As a matter of fact, you may catch so much, you'll wonder what to do with it all.
Well, we've got you covered. If you are a connoisseur of smoked fish, you will absolutely love the delicate, never-fishy flavor of the smoked amberjack and mackerel that come from our Bradley smokers!
