 | Raising the Profile of Disability & Return to Work

Women Business Owners of Manitoba (WBOM) has recently awarded the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award (in the category of Emerging Business) to Tracy Ducharme, president of Veritus Disability & Career Management Inc. The profile that her company provides disability and career management to those who have sustained an injury, illness or disability.
In winning the award, Ducharm has heightened the Winnipeg business community's awareness about disability & return to work. Read the newspaper article.

 | This Place Changes Everyone - DVD

At the 2011 Ability Axis Employment Expo Breakfast, everyone was given a copy of the Walgreens DVD, This Place Changes Everyone.
Many people asked about getting additional copies to share.
We are pleased to announce that we have more copies available for you to pick up. Please call our office at 204-487-0306 or send us an email to info@abilityaxis.com to make arrangements. There is a limit of five copies per person/organization.

 | Local Students Honoured
|
Two Winnipeg students were among 27 students with disabilities who were honoured at a recent international awards ceremony. The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)'s "Yes I Can!" awards are given to students who have excelled in academics, arts, athletics, community service, employment, extracurricular activities, independent living skills, self-advocacy, and/or technology.
Michael Gerl was recognized for his achievements in the Academics category. Drew Murray was recognized for his achievements in the Arts category.
Both young men traveled to National Harbour, Maryland to receive their awards and participated in a field trip to Washington, DC.
