TANK CAPACITY REMINDER
YOUR TANKS CAN ONLY BE FILLED TO 90%
Most trucking companies have a rule that the driver cannot fill your tanks over 90%. Some drivers can even get fired if they do. We know there are drivers out there who will go over, but please don't expect them all to. Always order so your tank is under 90%.
If it's an after hours delivery and you know the levels might be close, try taping a veeder root printout to the door for the driver to see. If it's close and they are going by generic tank charts, the driver may think the load won't fit, when in fact it will. Leaving a veeder root printout is a great way to insure you get all the product that you ordered.
If you ordered earlier in the day, and you think your load might not fit, please call us to cut back the gallons. It's much cheaper to short the load a few hundred gallons, than it is to get rid of a retain.
Retains are probably costlier than you think. We get charged for the extra stop, extra mileage to wherever we have to take the retain, and any extra unloading time. A typical retain can cost $150+, which can be passed along to the dealer if they ordered more than their tank could hold. |
