Resolution?
What Resolution?

With every new year, most of us resolve to do something different. Typical resolutions concern weight loss, stress reduction, exercise, smoking cessation, better money management, debt reduction, and just being a better person.
While many people who make New Year's resolutions do break them (25 percent the first week), research shows that making resolutions still helps. People who commit to a resolution are 10 times more likely to attain their goal than those who don't make a specific resolution.
So, with almost one month of 2011 complete-how's it going? Do you still remember your resolution? Have you slipped a few times? It's okay. I have too. But it's time to recommit. Clearly, whatever the nature of your resolution, it highlights a concern for you or you would not have made the resolution in the first place. Be one of the 64 percent who keep their resolutions going after one month. You can do it.

Congratulations!
 | | Molly Ringwald, 2011 Keynote Speaker |
You survived the hectic holidays and the start of another year. 2011 is off to a cold and icy start, but that doesn't put a chill on the excitement building for this year's 10-year celebration for Tapestry: A Day for You.
Lots of preparation continues for the big day, April 29. By early February, we will have the scholarship recipients selected for this year. The candidate pool is filled with fabulous students who are pursuing a degree in the health field from IPFW. It's going to be a very difficult choice! The Dedication Award honorees have been selected. They are wonderful female role models whose positive activities have encompassed all aspects of their lives. Watch for the late February newsletter which will announce the Dedication Award honorees and the specific breakout sessions (we have 13 great ones from which to choose). You'll have to come to Tapestry April 29 to meet the scholarship recipients-it's a secret until then.
Warmly,
Ruth Stone Tapestry Project Manager tapestry@ipfw.edu

April 29 - A Big Day for Two Reasons
You'll want to get to bed early on April 28 for two reasons. First, if you are a fan of royal weddings, you'll have to be up with the birds to watch the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Then, at 8 a.m. doors will open for the 10th annual Tapestry: A Day for You. Treat yourself to this much-needed day of inspiration, renewal, and education. This event raises funds for women's scholarships and is a full day - shopping, a fashion show by Glenbrook Square, 13 breakout session choices, inspirational honorees, and (as the highlight of the day) keynote speaker Molly Ringwald! Remember, early to bed Thursday, April 28 so that you can enjoy both the wedding and Tapestry! Registration begins Friday, February 25. For more information or contact the Tapestry office at tapestry@ipfw.edu or 260-481-6854.
