Syttende Mai 5K Run/Walk and 1/2 Marathon

The VMH Wellness Center's Annual Syttende Mai 5K Run/Walk and 1/2 Marathon will be held on Saturday, May 19.
Registration for the 5K begins at 8am with race at 9am and 1/2 Marathon Registration begins at 7:30am and race at 8am. You can register online at:www.vmh.org. If you have any questions please contact the VMH Wellness Center at 637-4290.

Paul Deutsch
As a Therapist at Center Point Counseling Services Cooperative, I have become keenly aware of the role daily exercise plays in positive mental health and effective stress management. I use exercise to create flexibility, balance, and core strength. Exercise also supports my goals of internal awareness through focusing on muscle exertion and more importantly muscle relaxation. The skill of muscle relaxation creates a sense of control over my emotions. This is an effective tool in managing my stress levels. I have accomplished this level of proficiency through coaching and support of Dan Marko. Dan's training techniques in the gym and his Yoga classes have created an environment perfectly suited to help me expand these core practices. This is why I not only recommend daily exercise to my clients but I try and carve out space for it in my daily schedule.
